November's Member of the Month: Kate Wilson As the Bonneville Power Administration (BPA) Liaison for Montana and British Columbia, Kate is the primary point of contact between BPA and Montana-based federal, state & local agencies; elected officials; the Governor’s Office; members of congress; legislators; the Public Service Commission; the Montana Electric Cooperatives Association; and other key stakeholders. The Montana Liaison is part of the Intergovernmental Relations team, focused on a wide variety of energy and natural resource policies and programs as they relate to Montana. BPA is a nonprofit federal power marketing administration under the US Department of Energy based in the Pacific Northwest; the agency is self-funding and covers its costs by selling its products and services, marketing wholesale electrical power from 31 federal hydroelectric projects (including Libby and Hungry Horse here in Montana), one nonfederal nuclear plant and several small nonfederal power plants in the Columbia River Basin. Kate joined BPA in December 2022, and previously worked on water quality and aquatic invasive species policies and programs across the west, most recently serving as the Executive Director for the Flathead Basin Commission and the Upper Columbia Conservation Commission. She is based in Missoula with her MR and two rowdy dogs, a great place to appreciate abundant water and public lands. Become a NAISMA member now: https://bit.ly/46zMRES
