I spent the past 24 hours in Salt Lake thanks to NAIOP National to learn from the other western chapters about the most pressing issues facing us on a policy/advocacy front. I learned a lot about the risks to our energy grid, the realities of our water resources, and how we all can better address our supply chain issues. Can’t wait to transition this new information into effective policy to make New Mexico a more sustainable, forward thinking place to do business. I attended the NAIOP New Mexico Chapter event today where Mayor Tim Keller provided updates regarding #Albuquerque. As expected, much of the discussion centered around the city’s biggest challenges: #homelessness and #crime. Mayor Keller emphasized that while these issues may seem overwhelming, progress is being made. He highlighted several initiatives, such as the installation of cameras and #gunshotdetection systems throughout the city. Security measures have also increased with officers and security personnel now present at bus stops and on buses, and certain motels are being converted into housing to address #homelessness. The mayor also touched on broader efforts to revitalize #DowntownABQ, including partnerships aimed at making the area safer and more vibrant. #NAIOP #CommunityInitiatives #UrbanRevitalization #PublicSafety #EconomicDevelopment #BusinessDevelopment #CityUpdates #Networking
