NAI Burns Scalo was on hand with our fellow CRE professionals as a sponsor of the SIOR Industrialist of the Year Dinner honoring Nish Vartanian, a 39-year veteran of MSA - The Safety Company. This night honors industry leaders who have had a profound impact on our region. Former CEO Nish provided a thorough history on this remarkable company that started in 1914 making mining safety products in collaboration with Thomas Edison but evolved far beyond, as far as the International Soace Station where their hydrogen and combustible gas sensors monitor the air. Their products are deployed to monitor refrigerant leaks in grocery stores and keep firefighters safe, head to toe. Nish recalled MSA’s commitment during the pandemic to keeping first responders safe by donating their entire stockpile of 65,000 N-95 respirators. Today, MSA helps to protect 40M workers globally from their headquarters in Cranberry Township. What a great legacy!
