Thank you Jeniffer Solis for reaching out and including my experience in your thoughtful article. The work done in parks is wide-spanning and so important. While I've only had term-limited positions throughout my entire career, losing a job like this has hit harder than anything else. The larger implications of the mass terminations are more terrifying than the chaos created by potentially needing to restart again.

BREAKING! NAHJ Nevada today launches its summer internship application for student members in the state! We are proud to offer four paid opportunities that will place young reporters in media outlets in Las Vegas, the Carson City/Lake Tahoe area and locally in Reno. These journalists will report stories key to underrepresented communities and to those located in news deserts at Nevada Public Radio, KUNR Public Radio 88.7, Sierra Nevada Ally, The Nevada Independent. This opportunity is made possible by a?generous grant from the Scripps Howard Fund?aimed to?help Hispanic and Latino journalism students gain valuable internship experiences. Any student member of NAHJ in Nevada can apply, but the program is focused on recruiting from the?University of Nevada, Reno's Reynolds School of Journalism and?the UNLV Hank Greenspun School of Journalism and Media Studies.
