Message from NAGGL's CEO on FY25 Fee Revisions ? A major announcement came yesterday afternoon that adjusted the FY25 fee waiver schedule effective this week.? ? NAGGL recognizes that the reinstated fees will cause a hardship to the borrowers that had not expected this additional cost for their 7(a) loans and will cause a temporary hardship to the lenders that will need to amend their pending loans and possibly adjust their business models to account for the new fees.?But we see this as a situation where?U.S. Small Business Administration?and?Administrator Kelly Loeffler had no choice but to make these changes to protect the 7(a) Loan Program from continued cash flow losses and prevent a positive subsidy in FY26, which could mean far more significant cost consequences than the elimination of fee waivers.? ? NAGGL has been talking about the need to adjust fee waivers for some time now with Congress, the Administration, and our members, and even formally advocated in a February 26 statement to the Senate Committee on Small Business that NAGGL “strongly urges this adjustment [to fee waivers], effective immediately.”??NAGGL is always a part of the conversation on your behalf, and we will stay at the table on this, and the other issues, that are so important to the health and the integrity of the 7(a) program. ? With President Trump announcing from the Oval Office this morning that Department of Education student loans are being moved to SBA, and SBA’s press release issued today announcing an “agency-wide reorganization” and efforts to “reduce its workforce by 43%,” it seems SBA news is everywhere. NAGGL just issued a quick rundown providing some more context (like the fact that workforce reduction requirements were a directive from the White House first announced in February and applies to all federal agencies). But, most importantly, please note that today’s SBA press release states that “???????? ???????????????? ???? ?????? ????????????, ?????????????????? ?????? ????????????’?? ???????? ?????????????????? ?????? ???????????????? ???????????????????? ????????????????, ???? ???????? ???? ?????? ?????????? ?????? ?????????????? ????????????????????, ???????? ?????? ???? ????????????????.” NAGGL is always on top of these issues in DC on your behalf and we’ll continue to keep you posted with the real analysis that you need to know!?

This evening, the Senate passed the Continuing Resolution (CR) in a vote of 54-46, after the House passed it earlier this week.?This comes after weeks of negotiations and uncertainty.?The CR now heads to President Trump’s desk for signature, who is expected to sign the measure before the midnight deadline to avert a government shutdown.? ?
