关于我们
The National Alliance of Forest Owners (NAFO) is an advocacy organization committed to advancing federal policies that support the long-term economic, social, and environmental benefits of sustainably managed privately-owned forests. NAFO member companies own and manage more than 46 million acres of private working forests in 34 states. The U.S. is a global leader in modern forestry, setting some of the highest standards for sustainable forest management in the world. Planting trees is an important part of who we are and what we do. The continuous cycle of harvest and regrowth creates a mosaic of forest age and size classes across the landscape, which is beneficial for wildlife, water quality, carbon sequestration, and carbon storage. #TreePlanting #ModernForestry

America’s working forests not only produce the renewable products people use every day and provide millions of Americans with jobs, they also give us clean air, clean water, and wildlife habitat. That’s what makes #ModernForestry so unique – economic and environmental outcomes don’t compete. They support each other. ? #MarketsMakeItPossible

This week, the world’s first wooden satellite was launched into space. This unique satellite is designed to burn up upon re-entry, minimizing the release of problematic metal “space junk” – an issue linked to environmental impacts and potential interference with telecommunications. https://lnkd.in/eCMKC33g

From the pages of our favorite book to the homes we live in, forest products touch nearly every aspect of our lives. But they do more than meet our everyday needs. Because we use modern, sustainable forest management practices, NAFO forests provide wide-ranging environmental benefits: clean air, clean water, abundant wildlife habitat, and greater resilience to climate change. ? That’s why we are celebrating #ForestProductsWeek ??
