Promoting high-quality learning by connecting practice, policy, and research
关于我们
The National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC) is a professional membership organization that works to promote high-quality early learning for all young children, birth through age 8, by connecting early childhood practice, policy, and research. We advance a diverse, dynamic early childhood profession and support all who care for, educate, and work on behalf of young children. The association comprises nearly 60,000 individual members of the early childhood community and 52 regional Affiliate chapters, all committed to delivering on the promise of high-quality early learning. Together, we work to achieve a collective vision: that all young children thrive and learn in a society dedicated to ensuring they reach their full potential.

Why Do a Proclamation for Week of the Young Child? A proclamation is an official designation of an event, like #WOYC25. Proclamations are a great way to educate the public and bring attention to the cause of high–quality early childhood education. A proclamation is effective for gaining public recognition—and serving as an advocacy and accountability tool for the future—because it carries the full support of a key government official in your state or community. Read this piece?in Early Learning Nation?co-authored by NAEYC CEO Michelle Kang and Isabelle Hau that explores how "when we nurture the relational foundations of our youngest learners by showing them love, we unlock their potential and, in turn, create a brighter future for us all."?
In our piece with my brilliant co-author Isabelle Hau, we explore how loving interactions literally wire children’s brains for trust, empathy, and curiosity. The science is clear—when we nurture secure attachments through consistent, loving interactions, we build the foundation for executive function, problem-solving, and adaptability. Thank you, Isabelle, for your partnership in highlighting that investing in early relationships isn’t just kindness, it’s critical to our collective future! #EarlyChildhood #BrainDevelopment #Education #Leadership

Early childhood educators and the families they serve are being threatened by recent congressional actions. The House of Representatives advanced a budget resolution that threatens deep cuts to programs that many educators and families with young children rely on, including Medicaid, SNAP, Pell Grants, and other critical safety net programs. We urge you to take action now to tell your members of Congress to protect and invest in early childhood education, early childhood educators, and all families with young children. https://lnkd.in/gcSvHDiG

Celebrate Week of the Young Child? 2025 with us, happening April 5-11, 2025! To kick off the week, Music Monday is more than singing and dancing, it’s a way to encourage children to be active while developing their early literacy skills and having fun with friends and family! When children sing, dance, and listen to music, they develop their language and early literacy skills while being active and encouraging movement. This week, early childhood educators and advocates from across the country gathered in Washington D.C. at NAEYC's Public Policy Forum, to make their voices heard and shape the future of early learning. They met with legislators, shared their expertise, and championed policies that support young children, families, and the profession. This is what advocacy in action looks like! This is also the collective power of membership. Through Community, Advocacy, Resources, Events, and Support, NAEYC is equipping members with the tools, training, and connections to drive real change. Join us in moving the profession and high quality early learning forward. #AdvocacyinAction #CARES2025 #NAEYC #PublicPolicyForum
