    What is inside a Receiver??? ? A RedLink receiver contains a Firecomms ASIC based on CMOS with a dual photo-diode, transimpedance amplifiers, comparators, and a signal conditioning limiting amplifier.?? ? The dual photo-diode front end produces a clean optical signal with back ground electrical and electronic noise cancelled out and the line driving limiting amplifier produces rail to rail signals suitable for your logic choice be it 5V or 3.3V.? ? There are options for DC to 1,5,10 and 50?MBd?providing solutions for DC alarm signals as well as motor control or power switching PWM (pulse width modulation) signals and at the faster speeds it can support the networking of multiple drives over plastic optic fiber.? ? A key performance for this technology is the ability to sustain DC alarm levels for many years of operation in the most difficult of environments including ambient temperatures ranging from -40 to +85'C with humidity levels up to 85% and sustaining this performance while experiencing all of the stray electrical and magnetic fields generated by high current and voltage switching in IGBT and?SiC?power electronic switches.? ?     Hurricane Helene & Milton Update: We are relieved to report that NAC’s facilities have weathered the impacts of Hurricanes Helene and Milton. Despite both storms making landfall in close succession on Florida’s Gulf Coast, all critical infrastructure has remained intact, and our teams have worked diligently to minimize disruption. NAC’s facilities and materials stored at all locations received no damage that will impact regular business operations beyond the expected delays caused by business closures during the storms. Business operations resumed on October 14, 2024, and all staff are working diligently to catch up on all pending actions and communication. We appreciate your patience and support during this time. All staff will continue working from NAC’s current locations until the relocation to the new facilities is complete. There will be further communication on the relocation timeline by close of business Friday, Oct. 18th.

    WEIGHT MEASUREMENT CIRCUIT In this design, AC excitation is used to eliminate 1/f noise in a weight scale application. A 24-bit analog-to-digital converter, combined with 4 JFETs, helps cancel out any 1/f noise typically found in signal processing circuits. The ADC features internal control circuitry that drives the JFETs on and off, effectively reducing 1/f noise—an area where JFETs excel due to their inherently low noise characteristics. Using low-noise JFETs further minimizes flicker (1/f) noise.     X-RAY DETECTOR PREAMPLIFIERS (0.01 TO 10 NM, 30PHZ TO 30EHZ) X-ray detectors consist of a scintillator which is used to convert X-rays to visible light and a photodetector that is used to convert this visible light to a current. For example, Csl(T1) and GOS scintillators are used to convert X-rays into visible light in the 500 nm range. A photodiode is then used to convert this visible light into a current. X-Ray detectors operate on electromagnetic waves with a wavelength that ranges from 0.01 to 10 nanometers (30 petahertz (10^16) to 30 exahertz (10^19). X-Ray detectors are used in dental X-ray imaging, computer tomography, non-destructive inspection of luggage, foods and industrial products. X-Ray technology is used for medical x-ray technology, mammography, radiology, X-Ray spectrometers used in spacecraft and satellites, art and archaeology analysis. Toxic dump site monitoring and environment monitoring and sensing of uranium and plutonium as well as nuclear plant monitoring. An X-ray fluorescence (XRF) spectrometer is an x-ray instrument used for routine, relatively non-destructive chemical analyses of rocks, minerals, sediments and fluids. X-RAY SPECTROMETER A typical X-Ray detector system (spectrometer) consists of an X-ray detector, followed by a JFET based preamplifier, a charge amplifier, a shaping amplifier and then a pulse height analyzer (as shown below).     SIMPLE LOW NOISE TRANSIMPEDANCE AMPLIFIER – 1 NV / SQUARE ROOT HERTZ ? A very low noise transimpedance amplifier based on one JFET transistor and one op-amp optimized for low noise is shown below. It has a noise floor less than 1 nV per square root Hertz. The specific design was developed for a correlation spectrum to measure Johnson noise (based on a LSK170 or LSK389 JFET). The JFET in the front end provides the input current that is a function of the gate to source voltage on the JFET and the drain to source voltage. The drain to source voltage is a function of the battery voltage (the battery voltage is applied indirectly to the drain of the JFET since the battery voltage at the positive terminal set the voltage at the negative terminal of the op-amp. The current through the JFET flows through the feedback resistor and the capacitor to provide a voltage proportional to the current through the drain to source terminals of the JFET. ?
