In February, we announced the creation of the Working Lands Climate Corps, an initiative that aims to provide skills-based training for careers in conservation. NACD is pleased to serve alongside the USDA Natural Resources Conservation Service, AmeriCorps, and The Corps Network in establishing the WLCC. Over the past few months, NACD has been working behind the scenes alongside partners to create educational materials, develop support frameworks, and build community spaces for WLCC cohort members to use as they begin their service. We're thrilled to announce that earlier this month the 126 individuals selected as the inaugural WLCC cohort met for the first time! These members were paired with over 28 public and private organizations across the country, including conservation districts and state associations. We're so excited to see the great work these young leaders accomplish during their service.
