There's never been a more critical time to share what’s going on for nonprofits and needed support for the organizations that are essential in our communities. That’s why we're encouraging all nonprofit leaders to complete the Nonprofit Finance Fund's 2025 State of the Nonprofit Sector Survey. The survey will gather data about timely social sector issues like federal funding, workforce and staffing, implications of political events, the importance of racial equity in nonprofit finance, and other topics relevant to creating community wealth and well-being. Your responses will help shape conversations about the investments and support nonprofits need to be resilient and sustainable. The survey is open through March 7. Our Nonprofit Management Institute made its first in-person appearance in Fayetteville last week! Thanks to CUMBERLAND COMMUNITY FOUNDATION, INC. for hosting us and inviting 30 of their grantees to participate. Our gracious host said it best about the program… “I’m certain that many people will have a better life in our community for years to come because you taught our nonprofits how to be efficient, well-governed, and accountable.” And participants are already strengthening their local networks – bumping into each other as they’re out and about and ‘developing better working relationships.’ We appreciate the commitment of these nonprofit leaders and recognize the extra effort of investing in their own professional development and capacity-building to strengthen their impact and continue serving others. Kudos! #NonprofitLeadership #NPMI #CommunityImpact

Consistent funding is essential to the work we do for our communities, and we understand how unsettling the federal grants pause ordered by OMB is for nonprofits. We've created this resource page to help organization's navigate the fast-moving changes, and we’ll keep it updated as new information is released https://lnkd.in/d-7gaByq #Nonprofits #GrantsPause #FederalGrants #CommunityImpact

Wow - What. A. Day. I’m so proud to be a part of the National Council of Nonprofits as part of my role with the North Carolina Center for Nonprofits. Their team has been working overtime to support the sector, including filing this order which yielded a temporary block. https://lnkd.in/e2fHcE6x If you work for a nonprofit organization and you aren’t a member of your state’s statewide nonprofit organization, now is the time to be in community with each other and make sure you are a dues paying member to ensure our sector remains strong and has the voice that’s needed in this moment.

❗️BREAKING: We're filing a Motion for a Temporary Restraining Order in the U.S. District Court for the District of Columbia to block the White House Office of Management and Budget from pausing all federal agency grants and loans. National Council of Nonprofits is filing together with public health and small business leaders, represented in court by Democracy Forward. This reckless action by the administration would be catastrophic for nonprofit organizations and the people and communities they serve. From pausing research on cures for childhood cancer to halting housing and food assistance, shuttering domestic violence and homeless shelters, and closing suicide hotlines, the impact of even a short pause in funding could be devastating and cost lives. This order must be halted immediately before such avoidable harm is done.
