With deep expertise in building best-in-class servicing models, she also brings valuable leadership experience from The New York Times and Citigroup. I came to the YOU Powered Symposium for two reasons. First, I wanted to listen to smart, thoughtful, innovative voices talk about how they are changing healthcare. Second, I wanted to better explore the role that #ICHRA plays in their world. At the symposium this week, there was a lot of conversation around community owned health plans and self funding. Brokers in this world are trying to control the cost of healthcare from the supply side. Someone said to me, "The only way you can spend less on healthcare is by spending less on healthcare." (Read it until it makes sense.) I got the chance to talk to people who do not use #ICHRA with their clients and ask them why. They challenged me to think about how I talk about ICHRA and where it's the right fit. We didn't always agree, but we are all trying to help employers get more control of their healthcare spending. We talked about ICHRA and direct primary care, and using classes to carve out remote employees. If you have ever heard me speak about #ICHRA, you know that I do not believe it's right for every situation. But there are many situations where it works really well (shifting risk, geographically distributed workforce, high renewals). If you want to discuss this topic further, to challenge me more or jump right into where ICHRA works, I always welcome the conversation. #ICHRA #DPC #YouPoweredSymposium

One of the common concerns around #ICHRA is that employees may struggle to pick their own health plans. But according to a recent survey, nearly 70% of employees are at least somewhat comfortable with cash-for-coverage plans and 63% said that employer support to help them shop for coverage would enhance the experience. Having just completed open enrollment, we know this to be true. In fact, 80% of employees were able to select their coverage directly on Zorro's platform—without any human intervention. How?
