A lot of interesting thoughts based on one 25 yard test. myswimedge.com Igor Molina Marcano https://lnkd.in/ejgGrKTP
Unveiling the Stroke Behind the Analysis: In yesterday's post, I shared detailed visuals with the myswimedge device, showing stroke efficiency patterns, symmetry, and biomechanics analysis. Today, I’m thrilled to connect these insights with a practical example: the swimmer you see here is the one whose stroke patterns we examined in those graphics! At first glance, this swimmer’s technique might look flawless, but as with any athlete striving for peak performance, there’s always room for improvement, especially under the water. This video captures their movement dynamics, showcasing the "W" pattern, breathing influence, and symmetry nuances I presented yesterday. Watching these strokes reveals how each subtle biomechanical adjustment can profoundly affect, for better or worse, your performance. Through this analysis, we’re breaking down how data-driven insights directly translate into real-world improvement. As you watch, consider these key questions: How do different body positions and underwater phases impact overall efficiency? What is the reason behind each singular pattern? What role does breathing play in stroke symmetry? Let’s keep this conversation going, drop a comment with your thoughts, observations, or any questions about how advanced analysis can transform training outcomes. Unlock your full potential in the water. Contact me. All levels/age swimmers & Triathletes MySwimEdge #Swimming #SwimmingUSA #SwimmingAtlanta #Triathlon #TriathlonUSA #DCSSwimming

How to Swim Faster and win Olympic Gold with Data-Driven Approaches? If you're aiming to swim faster and have access to the right data, what strategies should you consider? Let's take a look at a successful example that led to an Olympic Gold Medal at Paris 2024. Key Focus Areas for Coaches and Athletes: 1. Enhancing Minimum Stroke Speed?? 2. Improving feel for both minimum and maximum speed for every stroke. 3. Consistency and Timing? Outcomes of This Strategy: ? Higher Average Speed?? ? Fewer Imbalanced Strokes?? ? Energy Efficiency? By focusing on these targeted strategies, athletes can unlock their potential and achieve remarkable results. myswimedge.com

When it comes to evaluating swimming technique, it's important to focus both the metrics we assess and the time required for testing and analysis. At MySwimEdge we focus in on the data that provides deep insights into stroke efficiency, such as Distance Per Stroke (DPS) for EACH stroke, along with the acceleration-deceleration pattern during each stroke. Rather than measuring power or resistance, we focus on how these factors influence speed. Our innovative testing methods require just 10 to 20 minutes per month, allowing swimmers to assess their technique at various speeds and fatigue levels. With our first customers achieving remarkable success as Olympic and Paralympic Champions at Paris 2024, it's clear that this approach is making a significant impact. myswimedge.com

Do we understand the efficiency of the stroke correctly? Not necessarily.
Understanding Stroke Efficiency in Swimming We often hear swimmers and coaches say, "My/his/her right arm is stronger." But what does "stronger" really mean in this context? Are we accurately identifying which arm is more efficient? Let’s explore two recent examples: one from an amateur swimmer and another from a high school athlete competing at a high performance level. Example 1: Amateur Swimmer In the first case, the data shows that the strokes from the right arm (represented by the red line) result in smaller speed increase. This suggests that the right arm's strokes are less efficient than initially perceived. It raises an important question: Are we sometimes misjudging our own performance based on feelings rather than facts? Actually this person told me that his right arm is stronger and only after the test he and his coach identified the issues with his right arm stroke. Example 2: High School Swimmer In contrast, the second example reveals that while the right arm strokes do produce a noticeable increase in speed, they start from a lower baseline. This indicates that although the right arm is doing more work, it doesn’t necessarily translate to more efficient swimming. To gain deeper insights into stroke efficiency, tools like MySwimEdge measure a lot more metrics like the timing and DPS for each stroke. This data helps identify areas for improvement and allows for more precise coaching strategies. The concept of "stronger" arms in swimming often needs discussion. Efficiency is not just about power; it’s about how effectively that power translates into speed.

Final MySwimEdge tests before the Paralympic games in Paris2024.
Final Preparations for the Israeli Paralympic Swimming Team Before Heading to Paris. As the Israeli Paralympic swimming team wraps up their final training sessions before flying to Paris, they are also conducting MySwimEdge tests. In July the team was at a specialized training camp, and the Head Coach Yakov Beinenson, decided to assess the changes in their technique. The results are encouraging. Some have improved their technic's consistency, while others have enhanced their less efficient arm. However, we’ll delve into a detailed analysis of their techniques after the Olympics. At this stage, it’s important not to push too hard; the focus is on helping the athletes maintain their physical sensations and confidence in the water. While Yakov smiles for the camera, his demeanor during training sessions is very focused. Let’s wish the team an outstanding performance! We look forward to cheering them on in Paris! myswimedge.com

MySwimEdge delivers in Paris2024!
German Triathlon team has claimed the title of Olympic Champion in the mixed relay, with Laura Lindemann delivering an outstanding performance in the final leg of the relay. Eight months before the Olympic Games, Laura and her coach boldly decided to incorporate MySwimEdge into their training regimen. Rather than solely focusing on increasing speed, they prioritized strategies to conserve energy during the swimming portion of the triathlon. This approach proved to be a game-changer. Laura maintained complete control during both the biking and running segments, allowing her to unleash a powerful surge at the finish! Congratulations to Laura and the entire team on this remarkable achievement!

One of the cool features of the Olympic video coverage is the "bird's-eye view" angle. This perspective provides valuable insights into hand entry positions and palm orientations—whether they are straight, inward, or outward. Additionally, it allows for a thorough analysis of body deviations from a straight line during each stroke, which is crucial for identifying some of the underlying causes of body resistance. To conduct a comprehensive analysis, it’s essential to also consider the efficiency metrics—such as Distance Per Stroke (DPS), minimum and maximum speeds, and timing—associated with each stroke. By comparing the most efficient strokes to the least efficient ones, we can better understand the root causes of performance discrepancies. myswimedge.com

There are athletes who used MySwimEdge preparing for this Olympic games. Which adds completely different flavor to watching the Olympic competition
Women's triathlon. Huge congratulations to the winner, Cassandre Beugrand from France! Well deserved. I was rooting for Laura Lindemann from Germany as we worked with her and her swimming coach on her swimming technique using MySwimEdge. And her swimming was exactly as needed. Laura was in the first batch but conserved a lot of energy compared to her swimming several months ago. She looked in total control among the leading group of 10 triathletes on the bike. But then there was an unfortunate fall on the slippery turn. Bad luck. But Laura persevered and finished 8th. There will be a team race on August 5th. And I wish Laura and the German team the best. Right after the race I have sent a message of encouragement to Laura's swim coach and got his reply right away. Which was nice. myswimedge.com
