There is an amazing team of people behind the home-delivered meals program at Mystic Valley Elder Services. March is National Nutrition Month as well as Meals on Wheels America's "March for Meals" anniversary. In recognition, we'd like to thank the MVES Nutrition Department that enables us to deliver over 650,000 meals every year, in addition to providing well-being checks and social engagement. (This is possible thanks to our catering vendors, City Fresh Foods and TRIO Community Meals, with additional cultural meals from GREATER BOSTON CHINESE GOLDEN AGE CENTER INC and Jack Satter House.) There's story behind every meal we deliver - this link offers a glimpse into those stories. https://lnkd.in/es5Hx--V ... #NationalNutritionMonth #MealsOnWheels #MarchForMeals #MoreThanAMeal #HomeDeliveredMeals #AgingServices #OlderAdults #AdultsWithDisabilities

The MVES team was treated to a Sip & Snack event this week! It was a great lineup: mocktails, treats, trivia and prizes. Best of all, we got to bond with our coworkers. You may already know that MVES staff are dedicated and knowledgeable, but you may not be aware that they’re fun, funny, creative and supportive. ??Best work family you could ask for!?? Thanks to our HR Department and our leadership for bringing us together for some quality team time! … #teambonding #workfamily #TeamMVES #MVES?

Mystic Valley Elder Services was honored to host a visit from Congresswoman Katherine Clark today. The Congresswoman visited 630 Salem St. in Malden, one of MVES' Supportive Housing partner sites with HOUSING AUTHORITY CITY OF MALDEN. Residents and staff were both excited for a chance to hear from the 5th District Representative and ask a few questions. The Congresswoman discussed the importance of Medicaid and the role it plays in providing important services and supports.

St. Patrick's Day always brings people together, and our Supportive Housing staff has a knack for leveling up the festivities. You can practically see the sense of community in these photos from Everett, Malden and Melrose! Love seeing residents' smiles, their fun outfits, and the great decorations and treats. (Those Shamrock Shakes look amazing!) Great job by Shelby Perrault, Mariia Filippova and Heidi Ehrenfried. ?????? #community #StPatricksDay #StPatricksDay2025 #ErinGoBragh #everettAM #maldenMA #melroseMA #SupportiveHousing #MVES #SeniorLiving

MVES is fortunate to have community partners likes The Parc at Harbor View Senior Living. When an older adult or an adult with disabilities is facing urgent need, there are so many little necessities that are hard to acquire. Bedding, toiletries, towels, toilet paper — these essentials are what the MVES Emergency Closet provides. And we keep the Emergency Closet stocked thanks to community donations and collection drives. Their donation drive yielded many bags of items. Thank you, PARC! ?? We weren't kidding when we said our Technology Access Program (TAP) has been busy lately! They recently finished their latest iPad Basics Course, this time at the Malden Senior Center. It's wonderful seeing older adults come out of this course with the skills and confidence to make the most of technology. TAP Manager McKayla Arnold and TAP Coordinator Keli Yianacopolus put together a great graduation ceremony and our CEO Lisa Gurgone came by to help celebrate! We have to add a big thanks to the volunteers who make this program possible. Melissa Gonzalez from our Information & Referral Team and Lisa Jimenez, our Clinical Services Director, teamed up for some community outreach today. They were at Everett's annual Health Fair for Older Adults. A lovely day to be out and about, meeting residents and answering questions about MVES and aging services.

At MVES, we are in one of the rare fields where women workers and women leaders are in the majority. Today on #InternationalWomensDay, we’re reflecting on the way aging rights and women’s rights intersect. Everyone has a right to age independently, regardless of gender, and we’re thankful for the generations of workers and advocates who fought to make that possible. #iwd #womenleaders
