Let us take one moment on this World Mental Health Day to reflect upon how important mental health is in our personal and professional lives. This year, the conversations on mental health are more critical than ever, especially in light of the challenges that are now highlighted since the pandemic. Why Mental Health Matters: It is not only a personal issue; it dictates how we work, relate, and engage in our communities. The stigma related to mental health remains high, and so we have to enable our people to feel safe to be open about their struggles. As we open up to these conversations, let us all bear in mind that each one of us has a different mental health journey. Creating Supportive Workplaces: As leaders and colleagues, we are empowered to make a culture of openness and support possible. Mindfulness programs, workshops on mental health, and open dialogues make much difference in our work environment. It is time that we stop talking about mental health and take those very actions that are crucial toward well-being. Personal Commitment: Let us all encourage each other to take personal steps toward better mental health. It can be gratitude practice, professional help, or a check-up on a colleague; every action counts. Let's lead from the front and show them it is okay not to be okay. Today, let's be the solution. Share your story and help uplift one another until we are all in a world where mental health is upheld and destigmatized. Let's remember that to change the world, one must have to start with himself. #SmartHealth #WorldMentalHealthDay #MentalHealthAwareness #SupportEachOther

The recent success of genetic testing is bringing insight into the earlier identification of higher-risk individuals with BRCA1 and BRCA2, and these advances let the clinician begin early intervention to develop a treatment plan that will make a difference in outcomes. What's New? Blood-Based Testing: Scientists have found a revolutionary way to spot increased cancer risk from BRCA mutations without resorting to traditional genetic sequencing. This focuses on finding specific microRNA signatures in the blood, promising a potentially far-reaching probe into the risks of breast and ovarian cancers with much easier access. Rapid assays for point-of-care testing are being introduced, making BRCA testing quicker and cheaper. Because of this, BRCA testing could be extended to patients independent of family history. Such a test represents an important advance in the effort to increase access to genetic testing, especially in settings where healthcare resources are constrained2. Personalized Screening Programs: With such developments, it is now possible for the clinician to tailor very specific screening programs; by genetic profiling, individuals at risk can be provided with timely interventions and personalized options for treatment. But as we continue to tap into the benefits of genetic testing, we find ourselves at an even more advantageous position in detecting and thus treating the condition of breast cancer. Let's help spread the word about these lifesaving innovations! #SmartHealth #BreastCancerAwareness #GeneticTesting #HealthcareInnovation #BRCA

A cool thing about telehealth is that you can have a doctor's appointment while rocking your pajamas—even if your doctor is all dressed up in a white coat! So, as you chat about important health matters, just keep in mind: you could be sporting bunny slippers and nobody would know! #SmartHealth #TeleHealth #DoctorAppointment #EasyLifestyle

With increasing recognition, digital health technologies are becoming an indispensable tool in the management and treatment of Alzheimer's disease (AD) and related dementias. These include but are not limited to: telehealth interventions, wearable devices, and digital platforms that facilitate communication between patients and healthcare providers. An integration of such technologies can help improve patient care, treatment adherence, and disease progression monitoring. Fast Fun Facts! Telerehabilitation Efficacy: In this study, the effectiveness of the ABILITY program-a digital health home intervention-was realized to improve treatment adherence and cognitive function in persons with mild-to-moderate AD. A web-based digital platform was used for remote monitoring and remote support. The adherence rate is 81%, whereas the usual care was 62% (t-test). It resulted in significant improvement, notably in the language, executive functions, and memory domains after six weeks of intervention, with sustained benefit at one-year follow-up. Diverse Technological Landscape: In all, a comprehensive review had more than 100 digital health technologies in the assessment and management of Alzheimer's disease. Of these, wearable sensors constitute 32% and non-wearable devices, 61%, while some may be hybrid systems. Technologies focus on various aspects such as neurocognition, physical activity, and sleep monitoring. Of these, 69% report clinical validation, indicating their possible utility both in research and clinical settings. Financial Burden: The economic cost of dealing with Alzheimer's is estimated at roughly $612 billion annually in the United States alone. The use of digital health solutions is deemed paramount in easing this economic impact since it improves identification, allows for earlier diagnoses, and treats active diseases better. Applications that help to monitor the movements of patients or even those which could assist in face recognition can vastly improve daily living activities in patients. #SmartHealth #Alzheimer #RaiseAwareness #DigitalHealth #WorldAlzheimerDay
