This week we were able to sit down with Mokoro Stephen, a passionate and driven entrepreneur, and learn from his experience in the product world at TechnoServe. Stephen, who we met at Strathmore University, currently runs his own initiative called Heriwork | Our Students Work for You to Raise Fees matching students and alumni from the University with employment opportunities. Our conversation with Stephen, which was more an ideation session than anything else, was a significant milestone in the process and adaptation our conceptual product has undergone during our validation trip in Kenya. He was able to succinctly connect our vision with local needs and gave us invaluable advice in navigating cultural implications when reaching our end users. Was an honor to be apart of the Itrade Kenya - Israel Economic Mission to Kenya ‘s FinTech delegation alongside the Pears Program for Global Innovation. It was one of the first stops on our Validation Trip here in Kenya, and the connections, networking, and conversations we had at the event will no doubt turn out to be the highlight of the trip. As part of the event, we had the opportunity to pitch SafeCoin’s vision of a financial literacy revolution to a group of stakeholders and investors. The feedback, both the positive and negative, proved invaluable as we honed in on the way we present our initiative in subsequent meetings throughout the week. We want to express our gratitude His Excellency, Michael Lotem the Israeli ambassador for hosting the delegation and taking the time to provide his insight into the local business ecosystem. What a privilege to be on the ground representing SafeCoin here in Kenya!

Last week we had the privilege of attending the Africa Fintech Summit here in Nairobi. We were impressed at the diversity of Fintech stakeholders that were represented at the conference. The cooperative approach that defined almost all of our interactions was a unique element in our experience. We are looking forward to taking all that we learned in the two days and folding it into the expanding SafeCoin initiative. We were happy to be part of the Pears Program for Global Innovation’s delegation at the conference alongside a wonderful cohort of other founders, and had the opportunity to meet many conference participants at our delegation booth. Taking part in the Ecobank Kenya Limited’s workshop hosted by its FinTech desk was helpful in deepening our understanding of the financial networks and infrastructure that are across the continent. We were honored to spend time yesterday at the Michal Sela Forum | MSF Global with its Director, Lili Ben Ami to share how SafeCoin can help people across the world avoid falling into the trap of financial abuse. Not only we’re we able to present the progress of our initiative since graduating from the Forum’s 2023 Startup Cohort, but had the privilege of conducting an ideation session with Tal Babaioff around SafeCoin’s potential impact.
