And let’s just say they’re not coming quietly. They’re stepping up, speaking out, and shaking things up across the youth and democracy sector. We’re not just seeing change we’re building a community of changemakers.Young leaders who are redefining what’s possible. And with them at the forefront, the future is looking bright. Where you might have seen some of the squad recently: ? APPG on Youth Affairs: Delnaz Kazemi Reece T Morris and Ayah Mamode making sure young voices are heard in Westminster. ? NYS Launch: Lucy Newman represented young women and MLMS up in Liverpool alongside Lisa Nandy. ? Democracy Cafés: Breno, Beth , Susannah , Ben leading conversations on democracy across the country. ?Cumberland Lodge : Our very own Aaron C. will be chairing the discussion on The Future of Social Cohesion This is just the beginning, and only a handful of our squad leaders, watch this space! We are on a mission to get every single young person voting and engaged in democracy.
关于我们
We are Give an X and we are getting every single young person registered to vote before the general election. A coalition of the biggest youth movements in the UK led by My Life My Say, The I Will Movement and Shape History, representing thousands of young people across the country. Proudly non-partisan. By young people, for young people. --- My Life My Say (MLMS) is a youth-led, non-partisan organisation on a mission to empower young people to participate in democracy by creating spaces for dialogue across communities and generations. My Life My Say also provides young and socially excluded citizens with the tools to lead change within society through our Young Leaders programme. We’re a team of diverse and talented young individuals who are passionate about rebranding politics and removing the barriers that prevent young people from engaging and participating in the decision-making process. Since its inception, MLMS has engaged with 41,000 young people face-to-face and 80% of our events took place outside of London, including all regions of the UK and Europe. MLMS focuses on youth engagement by making politics fun and inclusive to young people. Through advocacy, MLMS seeks to represent the views of young people to stakeholders and decision-makers at a local, national and international level. MLMS also hosts the Common Futures Forum which aims to inspire and connect young people alongside democracy cafés which brings together diverse members of local communities. In 2018, MLMS won the Change Maker of the Year Award. The award recognises an organisation that has put a new idea forward to increase access to democracy, convinced others of the merit of their idea and affected a real change that benefits the greater good.

What’s your order? My Life My Say has launched a national consultation with Department for Culture, Media and Sport The #iWill Movement to place young voices at the heart of the National Youth Strategy. We are encouraging young people across the country to make their order to Government. We want this to be the largest consultation of young people across England, with research led by the team at Savanta. The consultation has already begun, with My Life My Say conducting nine Democracy Cafés across all of England’s regions (completing the scope of the consultation). We’re visiting rural & coastal towns, urban cities and youth groups across the country to ensure that young people are heard loud and clear. This will be followed by a series of Hope Hacks across the country, where young people can further input into the National Youth Strategy, directly liaising with senior policymakers across government. I am beyond proud of how quickly team have mobilised to deliver this for the sector. We’ve given it our absolute all with our friends at The #iWill Movement. Thank you to Department for Culture, Media and Sport for buying into the youth-led comms strategy. ??https://lnkd.in/ey5H3t_b ?? How can you get involved? ?? We're a small team but it's time to step up. We're taking our award-winning Democracy Cafés nationwide to directly hear from young people about how we strengthen our democracy. Our polling shows that young people are passionate about the issues that affect them but feel like their voices are taken for granted. So it's time to give democracy the update it needs—one that truly listens to young people and brings them closer to our political system. Throughout February, March and April, we're travelling the U.K. to work directly with young people aged 16-30, meeting them in their communities to hear what they are passionate about and how our democracy can be strengthened. As always with MLMS, they will be youth-led, place-based and always in partnership with local community-based organisations. Wales, Scotland and NI, we're coming to you in March/April. If you want to partner with us in the coming months and put on a DeCafé, please just message me!
