What a great way to celebrate Women In Construction Week!
We were proud to host the NAWIC Charlotte #121 “Building Allies” Event, with a rockstar panel, at our office last night. The packed house, for this important conversation about advocacy, inclusion and empowerment for women in construction, included eight of our female employees.
Like NAWIC, we believe when women support each other, incredible things happen!

Tonight, we had an incredible discussion at the Building Allies Panel, where industry leaders came together to explore ways to foster advocacy, inclusion, and empowerment for women in construction.
Moderated by Sarah W. of Turner Construction, the panel featured Jennifer De La Jara , Wendy G. Nixon , Davina Thorpe, and Tanna Thomas, who shared powerful insights on mentorship, workplace culture, and the role of male allies in driving real change.
These amazing ladies opened the conversation on:
🔹 The importance of intentional advocacy in career growth
🔹 How mentorship and sponsorship can create lasting impact
🔹 Practical strategies through shared experience for building a more inclusive industry
A huge thank you to Myers & Chapman for hosting, along with sponsors Bonitz, Inc.The Walsh Group - Walsh Construction & Archer Western and Piedmont Door Solutions I for supporting this meaningful conversation.

We’re excited to be working with Charlotte-based OmShera Holdings on Blinders, a 5,500 SF sports lounge under construction at 225 W. Tremont Avenue in South End.
This state-of-the-art space will feature a jaw-dropping 60-foot-wide by 15-foot-tall screen — believed to be the largest of its kind on the East Coast outside of stadiums or casinos.
• Inside: 160 seats and a sleek craft cocktail lounge vibe will redefine the sports bar experience.
• Outside: a 1,500 SF patio with room for 50 guests and multiple TVs makes for the ultimate game-day destination.
As Kush Anandani of OmShera Holdings told the Charlotte Business Journal, “Blinders will blend the viewing experience with the energy of a sports bar — leaving behind sports memorabilia for a craft cocktail lounge vibe.”
Myers & Chapman also built 300 West Summit Avenue, a 64,000 SF Class A office building, just a stone’s throw away!
