We recognize that nationally there are disappointments for climate action, but politics is and should continue to be local.?With that said, we have hopeful news to lean into during this time. ?? Voters in California have passed Proposition 4, a transformative $10 billion bond for critical water, clean energy, and environmental projects. This measure will fund essential initiatives like safe drinking water, wildfire prevention, coastal protection, address extreme heat events and fund sustainable agriculture—projects that strengthen resilience to climate change and protect communities. Local government policies like these are vital in fostering sustainable futures. Kudos to the environmental advocates, labor unions, and community organizations championing these efforts. At MyClimateRx we will continue to support policies and uplift our local solutions that create lasting environmental and economic benefits! ?? #sustainability #climateaction #localgovernment #climateresiliency #climatepolicy
关于我们
MyClimateRx is an interactive map app that connects communities to information about climate risks and associated climate solutions, by zip-code area. We plan to partner with nonprofits and community based organizations in the greater Los-Angeles area to share and empower the broader communities they serve with actionable information about food/ag and land use.

The US Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) recently released a powerful environmental justice mapping tool called?EJScreen. It's an incredible resource that combines?government, foundation, and private sector data?to highlight environmental and demographic indicators within communities and how they are impacted by climate change.???? This interactive map offers detailed insights into?air quality, pollution levels, and socioeconomic factors?across the U.S., empowering educators, researchers, and the public with data that drives?public awareness?on inequities affecting vulnerable populations. At?MyClimateRx, we're striving to take this approach a step further by incorporating?location-specific solutions?to environmental risks, paired with?actionable information?that enhance community resilience. From identifying local climate challenges to providing resources that help mitigate those risks, our goal is to turn awareness into collective action.??? Let’s leverage these tools to create healthier, more resilient neighborhoods. Together, we can inspire lasting change!??? #EnvironmentalJustice #PublicAwareness #ClimateAction #ClimateSolutions #MyClimateRx #CommunitySolutions https://lnkd.in/dBhBT-gC

What a great resource for #Nashville! #Climatesolutions are at the heart of what we do here at MyClimateRx. It's inspiring to see how local areas communicate both the risks and how to be more resilient.
The Southeast was hit hard by Helene and reminds us that we need to be doing more to prepare for natural disasters. Nashville's Climate Adaptation and Resilience Plan helps us work towards strategies that mitigate the impacts of severe weather. We developed an interactive Climate Resilience StoryMap to visually depict data in the adaptation and resilience plan. Take a look and figure out how you can help our city on its adaptation and resilience journey. https://lnkd.in/e6EWMen2 Huge thanks to Metro departments and many community members for their feedback on this plan. And massive shout outs to former FUSE Corps Fellow Kristin S. and ITS' Christopher Parker for their work on these resources.

The devastating flooding in Western North Carolina is a heartbreaking reminder of how rapidly our communities are being impacted by extreme weather events. Our thoughts are with everyone affected, and we're grateful to the first responders and volunteers working tirelessly to aid recovery efforts. In trying to understand the impact, we went in search in data and found these astounding measurements from NOAA Flood Gauges in the area. The French Broad River at Fletcher (about 20 miles upstream from Asheville) reached more than 10 feet higher than last record that was just set in 2004. Many river gauges in the area continue to be out of service so we'll be keen to know the full extent of the flooding once that data becomes available. Events like these reinforce the urgency of cataloging climate risk data. Tools like FEMA’s National Risk Index (NRI) map?(https://lnkd.in/ge6fiu3K)?help communities understand their specific vulnerabilities. By leveraging this data and matching it to local climate solutions, we can create tailored strategies to mitigate future disasters. From investing in green infrastructure to improving flood management systems, solutions are out there. The key is connecting data-driven insights with local needs to protect lives, homes, and livelihoods. Climate adaptation and mitigation isn’t a one-size-fits-all approach. We must prioritize collaboration with local governments, businesses, and communities to ensure preparedness and reduce vulnerability in the face of an increasingly unpredictable climate. #climaterisks #wncflooding #climatesolutions #climatedata

Did you attend our session? If not, we’ll be sharing a recording for registered participants and anyone who reaches out directly. We are on a mission to build a more connected ecosystem of #food and #regenerative #agriculture solutions for LA #communities to take action to combat #climatechange
While I'm beyond excited for Climate Week NYC later this month, I want to highlight our very own LA Climate Week here in Los Angeles happening this week!! One particular session that is top of mind for me is the Food/Ag Solutions for LA Communities - presented by MyClimateRx. I'll also be attending the Official LA Climate Week Closing Celebration on September 15th at House of Cocotte. Look forward to networking with like minded sustainability individuals, passionate about decarbonization and climate change here in Los Angeles. #LAClimateWeek #Sustainability #LosAngeles

This article about differing flood risk models in the Los Angeles area highlights the growing field of these kinds of private risk models and the importance of consulting a lot of different sources in decision making. #climatedata #climatesolutions #mappingrisks https://lnkd.in/eqMC9dWx
