Thank you League for Innovation in the Community College for another excellent conference. Community colleges are rapidly adopting Workforce Connect to standardize, simplify, and scale their workforce partnerships. #WorkforcePartnershipManagementPlatform. The work Eric Dunker, Ph.D. (one of Workforce Connect's design partners) and the National Center for the Apprenticeship Degree (NCAD)is inspiring and the future of education with 3,000,000 apprenticeship degrees by 2035. Check them out!
Aspen Rising President Fellow--Chief Growth Officer and Founding ED: National Center for the Apprenticeship Degree (NCAD). 20 years of innovation, development, and leading positive disruption
Was great to present twice at League for Innovation in the Community College in San Antonio on behalf of the National Center for the Apprenticeship Degree (NCAD). Thanks to Marty Lessmann and Workforce Connect for co-presenting (and please check them out!). Colleges who implement Apprenticeship Degrees need great design principles AND they need to have a coherent, streamlined approach to their employer partnerships (not a scattershot and uncoordinated approach which is the case in many organizations). Both things need to be true to implement successful programs that are co-designed by the college and employer with the working learner at the center.

How do we build a workforce that actually works for both employers and job seekers? The answer: Employer Engagement A strong workforce isn’t built in isolation—it requires real collaboration between employers and workforce professionals. As industries like advanced manufacturing, biotech, and renewable energy evolve, specialized skills are in higher demand than ever. Without employer input, training programs risk missing the mark. At Workforce Connect, we’ve seen firsthand how employer engagement transforms not just programs, but entire communities. It’s not just about filling jobs—it’s about creating long-term partnerships that align workforce initiatives with economic growth. How can workforce professionals strengthen employer engagement? ? Bridging the Skill Gaps – Employers provide critical insights into the most in-demand skills. ? Driving Program Relevance – Keeping training aligned with real-world needs. ? Strengthening Economic Impact – Workforce partnerships fuel growth and attract investment. ? Engage early—bring employers into the conversation before programs launch. ? Show clear ROI—demonstrate how workforce initiatives save hiring and training costs. ? Use technology—leverage tools like Workforce Connect to track progress and improve collaboration. We take a deeper dive into this topic in this month’s Workforce Minutes with Marty Lessmann check it out here: https://hubs.la/Q038QX3H0 Let’s keep building the future, one partnership at a time. #WorkforceDevelopment #EmployerEngagement #SkillsGap #FutureOfWork
