    A few days ago, OneBlood, the primary artery for blood donations to 250 hospitals in Florida and the southeast, was hit by ransomware, forcing manual operations. It is terrible that they were targeted. They're recovering, but this incident underscores how cyber attacks can severely impact critical services. At the same time, it highlights the importance of having contingency plans, which allowed OneBlood to pivot to a manual process and continue its life-saving work.
