#TipTuesday If you ever get nominated for a business award, but you hesitate to complete whatever forms are required to accept your nomination...DO IT ANYWAY! 3 Reasons Why: 1) Because it will probably require you to take a good, long look at your business...where you've come, where you are now, and what your vision for the future looks like. That can be amazing, tough, humbling and exciting...all at once. But worth it! 2) Because you'll probably get to go to a celebration with your fellow nominees, your staff and a loved one or two...and who couldn't use a fun night out? 3) Because you could WIN! Or at least be seen as a "leader' in your industry and community as part of the ceremony...and how cool is that? I was fortunate to have been nominated for the Entrepreneur of the Year Award with The Catalyst Center for Business & Entrepreneurship, and even though it was a daunting task completing the multi-page form to accept the nomination, I'm so glad I did. I didn't win the actual award...but I felt like a winner anyway! (Congrats to Patti Yancey w Stovehouse!) BUT I got to celebrate at the Huntsville/Madison County Chamber Small Business Awards with my husband, friends and some of my clients, who were up for some of the awards. I got to dress up and feel pretty. AND I got to also celebrate with my fellow nominees...many amazing entrepreneurs who I have had the pleasure to work with over the last 13 years. My "acceptance speech" would have gone like this... Thanks to God for blessing me with my business even though I'm sure He laughed A LOT the many times I used to say, "I NEVER want to own my own business!" ;-D Thanks to my husband, kids, family and friends for all of their amazing support, love, encouragement...and PATIENCE! Thanks to all my awesome clients who have allowed me to help them take their marketing and their businesses to the next level of success....and made it so fun along the way! And thank you to all my wonderful friends w The Catalyst who have been a key part of my success and have also helped so many of my clients as well. So...listen to me when I say this...next time you get nominated...FILL OUT THE FORM! It will be worth it! ??
