    AI Isn’t Just for Automating - It’s for Elevating AI is often framed as a tool to help senior professionals automate repetitive tasks, freeing them for strategic work. But what if we flipped that thinking? Instead of just using AI to eliminate tasks, let’s use it to elevate junior team members, giving them the frameworks, strategic insights, and guidance they need to make bigger contributions earlier in their careers. Tomasz Tunguz’s recent post AI Impact Curves highlights how AI can shift productivity. But instead of seeing AI as a tool to reduce work, we should focus on how it amplifies talent at every level. Junior employees benefit the most - AI provides structured thinking, strategic frameworks, and executional support that accelerate their learning curve. In my conversation with Matt Fischer today, he mentioned Dan Martell's Buy Back Your Time book that suggests, the 10/90 principle: if you spend 10% of your time setting up leverage, you’ll reclaim 90% for high-value work. AI does the same—handling repetitive tasks so all team members, regardless of experience, can focus on higher-order thinking, creativity, and innovation. AI isn’t about replacing people; it’s about elevating them. Adopt a growth mindset and rethink the AI curve—use it to empower everyone on your team, not just the senior members.     At 54 am I too old to become a startup founder? Isn’t that something reserved for 20- or 30-somethings? After 25 years in big tech and startup tech, I found myself taking a long, hard look in the mirror and realized that I didn’t fit into what I would call standard professional roles align to my past career trajectory. The next step wasn’t clear. So I decided to follow a life-long passion to start a new company MySidecar AI. Lessons From the Journey So Far 1. Stay close to your supporters. Surround myself with people who energize me and lift me up. Doubts, fears, and self-critique are already part of the process - I don’t need extra negativity. 2. Have a vision, but take it one step at a time. I don’t need to know the whole path upfront. With every step, the future becomes clearer. 3. Be humble. Those 25 years of experience don’t give me any special privileges in the startup world. Grind, experiment, ask for help - just like I did 20 years ago. 4. Connect with people. This journey has been an amazing opportunity to reconnect with old colleagues and friends and to build new relationships. 5. Know your happy place. For me, it’s the mountains - any time of year. They give me peace, perspective, and the energy to keep going.
