?? Exciting news! The 3rd cohort of our Community Animal Medicine Professionals (CAMP) program kicked off today! ?? We’re thrilled to continue building a strong community of passionate veterinary professionals. Over the next 6 months - the cohort will focus on veterinary assistant skills and community medicine - all with a focus on removing barriers to access to veterinary care. My Pit Bull is Family is a 501c-3 non-profit organization based in Minneapolis, Minnesota with a mission to keep families and their canine companions together by ending housing and insurance discrimination. My Pit Bull is Family manages the nation’s largest database of dog inclusive rentals along with a robust Community Partner database – through these two programs, we are able to provide services to families in need and keep pets at home. Our team focuses on having conversations with property management companies, conducting pet policy research studies, building relationships in the community, and providing resources to keep families together. Additionally, in 2019, we launched our North Minneapolis Pet Resource Center to support our local community. Our team of volunteer advocates assist pet-loving community members with supplies and resources to help keep pets and their families together – at home.

The price of pet food these days? Woof. It’s ruff out there. And before you even think about dropping a “If you can’t afford a pet, don’t have one” comment—don’t tempt us. We could write a novel (or a strongly worded pamphlet) on why pets are essential for people of all incomes. Seriously, don't try us - you won't win. That’s why at our North Minneapolis Pet Resource Center, we make sure no pet goes hungry. Appointment or not, you’ll leave with something to keep your furry friend fed for free —because love isn’t measured in dollars, and no one should have to choose between feeding themselves or their pet.
