Guiding Students Along Their Pathway to Success
关于我们
My Pathway to College provides comprehensive and effective college consulting services to help guide high school students along their pathway to success. There is no one-size-fits-all template for advising students, as each student has a different pathway. Our experienced college consultant, Jennifer MacLure, brainstorms ways for students to stand out amongst their peers in their college application and determine a list of best fit colleges that match their academic and personal preferences and financial options. No matter where you are in the college admissions process, My Pathway to College can help. As early as 9th grade, we can review your student’s transcript and make recommendations about course selection, extracurricular activities, and standardized testing. By 10th grade, we can also give you guidelines about visiting colleges. In 11th and 12th grade, My Pathway to College provides a wide variety of services to meet your needs with the college search and admissions process. We offer a variety of services, packages, and payment options to meet your needs. In addition, all students and their families receive a complimentary 1-hour meeting where our consultation counselor will answer specific questions about the college admissions process, help determine a best-fit pathway package and help validate whether our counseling approach will meet your needs.

Exciting news! You've been accepted to college! Now, it's time to find the perfect fit for you. Here's how to make the most of your admitted student tours: 1?? Sign up in advance: Make sure to register for admitted student tours ahead of time. These tours often fill up quickly, so securing your spot is crucial. 2?? Speak with current students: Take the opportunity to chat with current students about their experiences. Their insights can provide valuable perspectives on campus life, academics, and more. 3?? Know your criteria: Consider what YOU want in a college. Make a list of your top eight or ten characteristics, focusing on both quantifiable factors and intangibles. Ask about programs that align with your interests and goals. 4?? Ask questions: Now is the time to inquire about everything! Don't hesitate to ask about academics, extracurriculars, campus culture, and anything else on your mind. Do your research and gather as much information as possible. 5?? Evaluate each college individually: Assess each college based on YOUR criteria. Trust your gut and take the time to explore each campus thoroughly. 6?? Narrow down your options: Let go of colleges that don't match you. Focus on the ones that resonate with you the most. 7?? Compare your remaining choices: Create a chart and compare colleges in pairs based on YOUR characteristics and finances. Eliminate any colleges that don't measure up or that are not financially sound. Remember Class of 2025: There's no such thing as a perfect college. Your college experience will be shaped by your attitude more than the college itself. Embrace the journey ahead with enthusiasm and an open mind! If you need help narrowing your options, reach out to us! We’re here to help you during this exciting time. Happy exploring! #CollegeBound #AdmittedStudents #DecisionTime #Classof2024 #collegeadmissions #collegefit #collegecounseling

Attention Juniors! After your spring break, it’s the perfect time to ask for letters of recommendation from teachers. Spend the next couple of weeks determining who will be the best teacher to ask. Ask teachers that know you well and are in different subjects (core classes - math, English, history, foreign language, science). Preference to teachers in AP/Honors classes and in the junior year. Pro Tip: ask when other students are not there and remember to say please and thank you! #Classof2026 #CollegeBound #Admissions #teachers

Avoiding the Dreaded Disease: Senioritis! Hey Seniors, we get it – you've worked hard throughout high school, and now that college acceptance letters are rolling in, it might be tempting to kick back and enjoy the final stretch. ?? But beware of "senioritis" – the tendency to slack off in the last months of senior year. Remember, admission decisions are conditional, and colleges expect you to maintain your academic performance. Keep the momentum going, strike a balance between fun and focus, and make smart decisions. Every year, colleges may rescind offers based on performance and behavior, so let's finish strong together! ???? #SenioritisAwareness #FinishStrong #BalancedSeniors #admissions #collegeadmissions #collegeadvice
