Today is World Mental Health Day. ?? It was a true privilege to spend time with Meltwater talking about the importance of self-care. According to a recent study published in the International Journal of Wellbeing, individuals who reported practicing self-care had significantly higher levels of resilience compared to those who did not. At Josie, we want to reframe the idea of self-care to this: It's a necessary practice to build RESILIENCE...and in turn, live a life that you don't feel the need to regularly escape from. Thank you Keely Merritt, PCC, BCC, Elaine Marino [she/her/ella] and Amy Ciba for inviting us to be with you today - always an absolute joy to be with the Meltwater team ?? #worldmentalhealthday #resilience #toughness #selfcare #mentalhealth

Overheard at Teladoc ?? "If we take the time to support people in balancing life and work, then we will have greater long-term loyalty, satisfaction, and desire to contribute value. We'll have a more psychologically safe space to collaborate and together can do more as a team." Thank you to the amazing Nurture BRG team at Teladoc Health for sharing, laughing, and chatting with us about how both working parents and managers can effectively navigate tricky work place scenarios! ?? ?? The best kept secret when deciding where to work? Pay attention to the small things that add up to a fantastic culture - an environment where parental leave is honored, a degree of trust and autonomy is afforded to each team member, and where all of our identities are celebrated: professional, parent, and / or [fill in the blank!] We are SO GRATEFUL to partner with extraordinary companies like The Health Management Academy and to do the work with incredible employees like Michael Putnam ??
What makes THMA a standout workplace? We're continuing our series showcasing what sets our culture apart! Discover why our team members feel genuinely valued and included. Next up: Growing professionally while prioritizing family! As many families send their little ones back to school, our team members are doing the same—without compromising on their professional or personal priorities. We are committed to fostering growth opportunities while supporting our team members as their families grow. Michael Putnam, a Senior Director on our Member Development team, shares his experiences with us in the video below. With paid parental leave, working parents support groups, a partnership with Josie (a parental coaching platform), and flexibility for parents as they navigate pickups, drop-offs, sick days, and more, THMA supports working parents every step of the way. It's not about choosing between family life and professional growth—it’s about thriving in both! #IBelong #THMA

?? TRICKY SCENARIO ALERT: Carmie is manager to a team of 3. One of his team members, Richie, is expecting his first child. Carmie himself is a dad of 2, and the other two team members do not have children. Recently, one of his team members - Sydney - has expressed some resentment towards taking on additional responsibilities while Richie is on leave. In addition, performance reviews will occur during Richie's leave, and he is feeling anxious about this. We had the honor to work through this with our friends at LinkedIn today - and it was an absolute delight, as always! Scroll through to see some of our favorite lessons coming out of today's discussion -- and HUGE thank you to Allison Sims Sasha N. Heather Monson, Technical Writer and PM from the LinkedIn team for your ongoing support of our work at Josie ?? And the amazing Anne Terry for your endless wisdom. As any of these cast of characters, how would you react? How would you handle the situation? Share you thoughts below! ??
