We empower women to learn their breast density and cancer risk. Unfortunately, most women are unaware that dense breast tissue is a risk for breast cancer, and standard screening methods will find less than half of all cancers. We want every woman to know. My Density Matters was founded by Leslie Ferris Yerger, diagnosed with stage IV breast cancer in November of 2017, two months after an 'all clear' mammogram and ultrasound. Her cancer was hiding in dense breast tissue, left undetected to grow and spread. Leslie wishes she knew this before her breast cancer diagnosis, and she doesn't want her story to become your story. Natalie's Story Matters "Roughly 6 weeks after my clear mammogram, I was doing a monthly self breast exam and I found a lump in my breast." Natalie's Story ends differently than others; with her doctor's support and a medical team behind her, she has had multiple surgeries and chemotherapy to remove and further prevent cancer. She was doing everything right with her mammograms, yet found it herself. And thank goodness she did!
