This recognition is awarded to purpose-driven campaigns that drive positive change and make the world a better place. Today I was fortunate to sit in a room with 14 brilliant minds talking about the future of measurement in the PR industry.???Thank you Kim Sample?and Gideon Fidelzeid?for the opportunity to join and to the PR Council and PRWeek for convening us and asking the thought provoking questions.???While our industry has made some strides, we still have a long way to go to move beyond reach and impressions and into the real impact on the business. And leaders in our industry are asking the right questions.??? One thing is clear:??as our work gets more integrated across marketing communications disciplines, our approach to measurement must expand beyond earned media alone.???So much of the conversation and the metrics is focused on the “fourth estate” (news media) which is traditionally rooted in circulation and/or viewership.????But as we consider the fact that we are operating in an environment where a new top tier has emerged, the foundation of measurement needs to consider earned influence, not just earned media.???We now need to be able to measure and convey the value of our work the new “Fifth Estate” – which includes everyone who influences your brand and reputation – and its impact across the full stakeholder ecosystem.?
