In times of crisis, community is everything. The recent wildfires in Los Angeles have left many of our neighbors and leaders facing immense challenges, from personal loss to the strain of caring for their families. At the Make Well Known Foundation, we believe that supporting those who lead and uplift their communities is essential, especially during difficult times. That’s why we’re providing micro-grants to our Community Trust Makers who have been impacted by the wildfires. These grants are intended to offer personal assistance, giving them the capacity to prioritize their well-being while continuing their impactful work. This moment reminds us of the resilience of our communities and the importance of standing together. To all those affected, we see you, we stand with you, and we are here to support you as you navigate this recovery. #CommunitySupport #WildfireRelief #TrustMakers #Resilience

??? I NEED YOUR HELP!! ??? EVERYONE IS WELCOMED TO TAKE THE SURVEY!! We’re on a mission to put 15,000 Black doulas across 29 states—for FREE! But we can’t do it without YOUR support! ???????? We need to collect over 1,000 surveys, and that’s where you come in! Please SHARE, SHARE, SHARE this post with everyone you know! Let’s spread the word and make a difference together! ?? Why is this important? Black birthing people face higher rates of maternal morbidity, mortality, postpartum depression, and poor experiences in maternity care compared to other racial groups. This is rooted in centuries of systemic inequities that have disadvantaged Black individuals and communities. Historically, Black birth workers have been essential to maternal health. From the enslaved Black midwives of the 17th to 19th centuries to the “Grand” midwives of the Jim Crow era, these community leaders have always cared for their people. Today’s community doulas are reclaiming this vital role, offering culturally relevant support and advocacy during pregnancy, childbirth, and postpartum. When Black doulas are present, GOOD THINGS HAPPEN! Research shows they can help troubleshoot lactation issues, monitor mental health, and support recovery. We need to gather data to demonstrate the urgent need for more culturally congruent doula training in Black communities. Please take a moment to complete the survey and share it widely! Your participation can help us create a supportive network that truly uplifts our communities. ???? [https://lnkd.in/eeuEy4Em] ???? Let’s make a difference together! ?? #SupportBlackDoulas #MaternalHealth #CommunityCare #ShareTheSurvey #EmpowerBlackMothers

?? Puentes de Salud has been championing the causes of health and education for Latine immigrant communities in South Philadelphia since 2008. Our Mission: 1?? Partner with local Latine immigrants to address pressing needs in education, health, and social services. 2?? Create a responsible learning environment for the next generation of advocates, educators, and healthcare providers. Founded by Dr. Jack Ludmir and Dr. Steve Larson, Puentes de Salud emerged from their keen observations of the rising needs within the Spanish-speaking immigrant population. Recognizing the importance of the social determinants of health, they engaged with local business owners, religious leaders, and educators to truly understand the community’s requirements. Puentes began with a medical clinic aimed at delivering high-quality, affordable healthcare while challenging the exorbitant costs of traditional American models. Every program at Puentes is shaped by the voices of the community, focusing on holistic wellness and bilingual education. Today, our services include comprehensive medical care, dental care, prenatal care, behavioral health support, case management, and food access, as well as educational programs that foster bilingual literacy, leadership, and artistic expression. At the core of our work is the belief in the power of community-led initiatives and the importance of education and empowerment. Join us in our mission to build a healthier, stronger Latine community.
