One thing we love about our MVNPers (and our friend at AAF Hawaii, Jody Shiroma) is their dedication to our Hawaii community, on the clock and off. Mahalo to everyone in this post for their commitment to this great cause for Breast Cancer Awareness Month, especially our MVNPers Lindsay Schedler and Sheena Cole! ?????

On Sunday morning, our 808 Cares group members - Lindsay Schedler, Sheena Cole, Akili Jones, Larry Ganiron - got up bright and early to volunteer as course monitors for this year's Susan G. Komen “More Than Pink” walk for breast cancer awareness. There is always something special about volunteering. I don't know if it's the act of service, the collective effort and energy among like-minded people, the feel-good give-back for our community, or all of the above. All I know is that when I volunteer, my insides feel *amazing* and I get a natural high from it. As I walked through Kapiolani Park assisting with initial volunteer assignments, it made me so emotional. To see businesses and organizations setting up their booths... high school students volunteering their time...family, friends, allies, supporters and survivors getting ready to walk, it was a beautiful thing to be a part of. I even had a chance to talk to a daughter whose father comes out year after year to do Zumba before the walk in support of his two daughters. To see the smile and joy light up his face and theirs, it was pure magic. As I got ready as a Course Monitor, I chatted with two police officers who were also so very supportive of this walk, and as the walkers - human and furry friends - began to pass me by, I cheered them on, threw them shakas and congratulated them for the awesome humans that they were! What a sight to see! What a wonderful way it was to end my weekend and start this work week with my cup, and heart, filled with gratitude and appreciation. #susangkomen #breastcancerawarenessmonth #morethanpink
This spooky season, we helped the Blood Bank of Hawaii team name their limited-time blood orange beer: Fangs for Donating ?? Then we all toured Hana Koa Brewing to learn how it’s made! Mahalo to Blood Bank of Hawaii and Hana Koa Brewing Co. for this opportunity to raise awareness about Hawaii's urgent need for blood donors. Don’t forget to donate at Hana Koa from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. on 10/26… and, obviously, grab a four-pack to go. Of beer, that is.
Summer may have come to a close, but we're still thinking about our annual MVNP Picnic! Between the friendly competition, delicious food, and great company, we cooked up some unforgettable moments. Mahalo to our team for keeping the heat on all year long, and congratulations to Team Pink for winning a free PTO day.
We’re so proud to be part of a team that brings their time and talent to the advertising community, both in and out of office.
