I just checked and we have four more price decreases in the hopper for 1H 2025. Video infrastructure needs to be more affordable for everyone. We're doing this via deep system optimization at high scale. Today, that means things like lazy transcoding, smarter ratecontrol, cheaper fundamental compute and bandwidth, cold storage workflows, and dozens of smaller optimizations. More coming in the second half of the year!
Mux Video assets now all start in cold storage, not hot storage. So if an asset is never watched, storage is 60% off. I love this change, partly because we're seeing a surge of customers where the median view count for an uploaded asset is 0. (Many AI use-cases map to this pattern.) https://lnkd.in/g_Z6_e8N
