In case you missed it -- MUUS Climate Partners Advisor Jesse Jenkins was named to the TIME100 NEXT 2024 list. Dr. Jenkins' work as a Princeton professor has been essential in charting out technological and policy pathways to net-zero emissions. He's also been one of the most important analysts and behind-the-scenes creators of modern-day US climate policy. On this list, Dr. Jenkins enjoys the company of NBA Finals MVP Jaylen Brown and chart-topping pop artist Sabrina Carpenter. Now that’s some good in-flight entertainment! Nice to see Steve Wolf on the Today Show this morning, talking about the technology that Team Wildfire built to combat wildfires. MUUS Climate Partners invested in Team Wildfire last year. Wildfires are becoming more frequent and severe due to climate change, and, unfortunately, they also accelerate climate change due to the deforestation and emissions released in combustion. Team Wildfire is building products to reduce the severity of these fires, using jet engine technology to spray water and fire suppressant hyper-efficiently and at ultra-high speeds, while controlling microclimate conditions such as wind. Deserving of the national coverage it received today!

Last week, I spoke at SXSW about solutions to climate change, and why those solutions represent the most exciting business opportunity of our generation. Eliminating greenhouse gas emissions will require transformations across electric power, transportation, buildings, industry, and agriculture. Those transformations are driven by technological advancement, and the companies deploying the most effective decarbonization technologies will likely create trillions of dollars in value. The talk included examples of climate solutions from MUUS Climate Partners portfolio companies, including BrightNight, Panthalassa, Harvest, WideSense, Rock Rabbit, and Amperon. After I spoke, Ellie Johnston from Climate Interactive took over, to facilitate a session in which the audience used the En-ROADS climate simulator to "solve climate change." Our group has been working with En-ROADS alongside Climate Interactive and MIT Sloan Sustainability Initiative, to teach business and political leaders about climate solutions.
