Big news: Harvest is going multifamily! ???? We started bringing cleaner, cheaper home comfort to single-family homes back in 2020, and now, we’re taking the next big step—our first multifamily project in San Jose with Eden Homes! Why does this matter? Because high-efficiency, all-electric heating + hot water shouldn’t be a luxury—it should be accessible to everyone. And with this project, we’re making real savings + real emissions cuts a reality for tenants while helping Eden hit an ambitious 50% GHG reduction target. Check out the video to hear why Ruthie Levin, Sustainable Housing Project Manager at Eden Homes, chose Harvest to make it happen. ???? #Multifamily #SustainableHousing #EnergyEfficiency #ElectrifyEverything #HarvestThermal

We are excited to announce our latest investment in Hyperlume Inc., a pioneering company developing ultra-fast microLEDs that significantly enhance data transfer speeds in data centers. By replacing traditional copper-based wires, Hyperlume's technology addresses critical challenges in efficiency, energy consumption, and latency, positioning them at the forefront of next-generation data infrastructure. ? This is our first investment directly targeting data center infrastructure and the semiconductor sector. We are excited about the tailwinds behind generative AI, the requirements of AI infrastructure, and?an opportunity to reduce hundreds of million tons of CO2e. https://lnkd.in/gv3be5sF

MCP Partner Logan Grizzel's takeaways from Intelligent Vehicle Briefs webinar with top EV policy experts and investors re: industry impacts under the new administration starting tomorrow: State-Level Commitments: - While the auto industry supports ZEV initiatives, there is a lack of widespread commitment from other states (beyond California and Colorado) to adopt similar standards which worries the industry. If other ZEV states boost their in-market promotional work in line with CA and CO then would expect strong industry support for EVs. Impact of the Inflation Reduction Act (IRA): - IRA credits are legislated and already thru their definition period so any changes require Congressional action, making them resistant to direct executive branch interference. However, the new administration could indirectly hinder clean energy progress by defunding or reducing staffing at agencies like the Department of Energy (DOE), which would slow grant approvals and credit processing. Funding Allocations and EV Tax Credits: - $4 billion was allocated under Section 48C in 2023, with an additional $6 billion locked in by early January 2025. - While repealing the EV tax credit (Section 30D) would take time, the administration could effectively limit its impact by altering qualification criteria for vehicles such that almost no vehicles would comply. - Industry is trying to frame the EV tax credit as a supply chain on-shoring support which would resonate with Republican sensibilities, though key policy experts still expect an uphill battle to keep it. California's Leadership in ZEV Standards: - California's ZEV mandate aims for 100% compliance by mid-century, and OEMs did not resist updates to these standards during Trump's first term. They also see the industry trend towards electrification and are more worried about local market support. In absence of any support it makes it that much harder for them to be competitive as Tesla has already hit scale, but others are still coming up the volume curve. - The OEMs are building for global demand and are unlikely to abandon electrification, though perversely incentive reduction could make it harder for US automakers to compete with China's offerings.

In case you missed it -- MUUS Climate Partners Advisor Jesse Jenkins was named to the TIME100 NEXT 2024 list. Dr. Jenkins' work as a Princeton professor has been essential in charting out technological and policy pathways to net-zero emissions. He's also been one of the most important analysts and behind-the-scenes creators of modern-day US climate policy. On this list, Dr. Jenkins enjoys the company of NBA Finals MVP Jaylen Brown and chart-topping pop artist Sabrina Carpenter. His feature was written by pioneering climate activist Bill McKibben, who had this to say: From his perch as an engineering professor at Princeton, he’s emerged as the scorekeeper for American efforts to transition to clean energy: his analyses gave environmentalists confidence that President Joe Biden’s Inflation Reduction Act was indeed a good deal that would dramatically cut carbon.
