I’m delighted to announce that I will be working with Musical Health Technologies aka SingFit as an Advisor as they scale their offering. When music plays our brain’s light up; We re-organize, pleasure and reward centers are triggered…if we were hooked up to a Functional MRI, this would be clear. Some individuals with Alzheimer’s have been able to recall and sing along to beloved music they haven’t heard in years, while others unable to speak have proven to burst into song. We have all witnessed the power of music to bring people out of themselves and together at the same time, the socially awkward hitting the dance floor or thousands of strangers communing with each other at concert. Music clearly has the power to inspire, but the medical literature and clinical evidence have proven its ability to heal. Rolling it out to mass audiences has been a sticky wicket. SingFit is a first to market and current leading #MusicAsMedicine provider being rolled out across the US and UK to long term care communities like Longevity Health & the NHS, with thriving partnerships including AgeTech Collaborative? from AARP. Their goal is to bring the healing power of music to the many. I recently had the pleasure of rolling out SingFit to my 85 year old parents while my Dad was in for a 2 hour infusion treatment to help with his mobility. Inspired, we headed out for an evening of singing at a Florida karaoke session at a Veterans of Foreign Wars (VFW) hall (total bucket list stuff)!
