Music Supervision Mastercourse

It’s been a busy and incredibly challenging start to the New Year, to say the least. I’m just wrapping up Season 3 of The Way Home, and I haven’t been able to share much—no spoilers allowed! This season has been the most musically diverse I’ve ever supervised (and that’s saying a lot!). Plus, we time-traveled back to one of my favorite music eras: the 70s. ???? Here’s a glimpse of what we’ve accomplished this season that I'll breakdown in upcoming posts: - 6 Visual Vocals, including “Hooked on a Feeling,” “Summer Breeze,” “Closing Time,” “Oh Very Young,” “Waterloo,” and “Silver Springs” - 3 beautiful original songs written by our composer Keith Power, in collaboration with Alan Doyle (of Great Big Sea): “Fare Thee Well,” “By the Light of the Moon,” and “Breathe” (https://lnkd.in/gNfWjT_H) - 1 Visual Dance featuring 1816 Fiddle music at a wedding, composed by Keith Power - A cover of our original song “Everything I Wanted” (written by Maria Taylor) from Season 1 - Licensing of iconic tracks by Elton John, ABBA, and War, to name just a few - Over 15 indie songs placed (including some from the 70s) It was a complex season, working with the amazing creators/writers (Heather Conkie, Alexandra Clarke and Marley Reed) to seamlessly integrate the music with the story. Keith Power absolutely nailed his stunning score. Our music editor, Kevin Banks, worked his magic! The incredible music producing team at Eggplant Music & Sound (Adam Daemlin, Nicola Treadgold and Ben Spiller) were the bomb. ?Our actors brought these covers and original songs to life in the most beautiful way. Post supervisor/super hero James Lourenco kept the boat afloat (pun intended). I couldn’t have done it without my co-music supervisor extraordinaire, Ann Kline.
