?? Call for Pitches to MMF: Publications Are you a museum worker, activist, scholar, or leader with a unique perspective on art museum workplaces? Submit your pitch for MMF: Publications! We’re now accepting pitches for articles that explore and expand our understanding of museum work through two primary lenses: 1. Voices on the Ground: Personal stories and insights from current and former museum workers. These narratives should illuminate opportunities for individual and collective change-making in the workplace. 2. Solutions-Oriented Analysis: Research and analysis that broaden and deepen our understanding of opportunities for change-making in art museums. These articles should connect with one of MMF’s research areas, including our biannual data study. If your piece does not fit into either of the above categories, you are still welcome to submit. We will work with authors who demonstrate a clear and urgent perspective on the field, regardless of format. Join us in shaping the future of museum work through writing and collaboration. Our inaugural MMF: Publications is now live! This cycle features four compelling articles exploring themes of care in human resources, discrimination, pay equity, and worker agency in US art museums. Each pair of articles includes an editor’s note from MMF, a moderated conversation between the authors, and a curated reading list from our research archive. Culture of Care ?? In our first pairing, Brea Heidelberg and a museum worker writing anonymously critique museum structures driven by compliance and corporate norms, advocating instead for a more humane approach to human resources and management. On Collectivism ?? In our second pairing, Olivia Dowdle and Amanda Tobin Ripley break down the history and current state of museum labor and explore the transformative potential of collective action within US art museums.
