关于我们

The Museum of Jewish Heritage – A Living Memorial to the Holocaust is New York’s contribution to the global responsibility to never forget. The Museum is committed to the crucial mission of educating diverse visitors about Jewish life before, during, and after the Holocaust. As a place of memory, the Museum enables Holocaust survivors to speak through recorded testimony and draws on rich collections to illuminate Jewish history and experience. As a public history institution, it offers intellectually rigorous and engaging exhibitions, programs, and educational resources. The Museum protects the historical record and promotes understanding of Jewish heritage. It mobilizes memory to teach the dangers of intolerance and challenges visitors—including more than 60,000 schoolchildren a year—to let the painful lessons of the past guide them to envision a world worthy of their futures.

  • We were honored to welcome over 200 survivors to the Museum?on Monday, January 27th?to commemorate the 80th anniversary of the Liberation of Auschwitz, International Holocaust Remembrance Day. Members of the Museum’s Speakers Bureau joined us to help launch our new installation, “Survivor Stories: An Interactive Dialogue.” This groundbreaking exhibit features pre-recorded interviews with ten survivors, enhanced by AI technology, allowing visitors to engage in dynamic, lifelike conversations. Through this interactive experience, visitors can ask questions and receive real-time responses, preserving these powerful testimonies for future generations. ? Additional survivors, including those from Selfhelp Community Services, gathered to watch the live-streamed memorial from Poland. Following the commemoration, they enjoyed a moving performance by the Hebrew Public School Students & Staff choir and connected over a shared luncheon. ? Welcoming survivors to the Museum is at the heart of our mission - this is a place for them to feel recognized and at home, where they can share their stories and forge community. Gathering with them on occasions like this is a profound privilege, reinforcing the enduring importance of remembrance and resilience.
