"For unto us, a Child is born. Unto us, a Son is given." Our Chief Curatorial Officer, Robert Duke unveiled our latest installation, "The Nativity, " which is part of our Christmas at the Museum of the Bible experience. ?? Floor 4

"Day of Thanks" was a wonderful celebration of gratitude, teamwork, and community as our staff members in Washington D.C., and Oklahoma City reached out to donors with voicemails and heartfelt letters. The day was filled with special moments from a donor excited to make a year-end gift, several staff members going above and beyond to contact 10+ donors with messages of thanks, to team bonding during our group pics. With a staff like this, we are truly appreciative of the work we are doing at the Museum of the Bible.?

In the spirit of Veterans Day, we had the pleasure of honoring John E Bishop. Bishop was greeted by our Chief Executive Officer Carlos Campo. Bishop received his education at the Naval Academy, where he graduated in June 1965. Afterward, he was elected to take his commission in the Marines. After completing the Basic School and Combat Engineer School, he was deployed to Vietnam and served there from 1966 to 1967. He served with the 3rd Marine Division as a Combat Engineer and in logistics support. His tours included Headquarters Marine Corps, a second tour with the 3rd Division in Okinawa, and his final tour in the Assistant Secretary of the Navy’s Office. When asked, “What did the Bible mean to you during and/or after your time in service?” Bishop answered, “I came to faith in Jesus while in the military as an enlisted man and the nearly 12 years that followed were intense years of learning about war (Naval Academy), training for war (Marine Corps), and then going to war (Vietnam). During these early years of faith, I was taught the value of the scriptures and how essential they are to discipleship and maturing in our faith.?The older I’ve gotten the more important the scriptures have become.” ? Thank you to Bishop and all veterans for their dedication to our nation. We are grateful to have brave men and women who serve fearlessly.
