Tomorrow is the next webinar from MuseumExpert.org! This fascinating workshop about AI and career growth in the cultural sector will be co-led by Brad MacDonald! Brad is an experience designer, game designer, artist, musician, and storyteller. He specializes in using technology and user experience expertise to create narratives for museums, cultural institutions, and corporate partners. His focus is on the creative process, crafting deep, human-centric interactions, and exploring the emotions that drive experiences across platforms. Notable projects include the FUTURES exhibition at the Smithsonian Arts+Industries Building and consulting on the award-winning exhibit Cellphone: Unseen Connections at the Smithsonian National Museum of Natural History. As Project Director for Digital Experiences at the Exploratorium in San Francisco, he developed guidelines for immersive digital experiences and created a digital strategy guide. He also participated in the Master Planning charrette for the Museum of Man in San Diego and has taught workshops on interactive design across Europe and China. Since 2014, Brad has taught at Parsons School of Design, NYU’s Tandon School of Engineering, and the China Academy of Arts in Hangzhou. This workshop focuses advancing professional development and career growth within museums and cultural institutions in the age of AI. Through group reflections and collaborative activities, we’ll explore how AI is reshaping our work and consider its opportunities and challenges. Audrey and Brad will present real-world examples of AI-driven innovations, setting the stage for breakout work sessions. These discussions will delve into fostering inclusivity, building talent pipelines, and evaluating emerging technologies while keeping in focus institutional mission and building visitor trust.?The session will close with group reflections and actionable takeaways, empowering attendees to integrate AI into their career journeys and influence institutional practices on strategic investments in people and technology tools. We're delighted that Audrey Chang, PhD will be helping to lead our webinar on February 27th! ?? ?? Audrey’s professional portfolio integrates strategic partnership development, operations management, organizational design and people and culture development. She is committed to developing workplaces and workforces that are diverse and equitable.? In these areas, her work has focused on implementing internal upskilling programs to prepare organizations and people for future business needs, assessing compensation and promotion philosophies, and developing tools for measuring culture and culture change. Audrey’s experience additionally includes administration and leadership in multiple cultural and scientific institutions, including her service at the Smithsonian, Duke University, and Science Gallery Atlanta, where she was the inaugural director. She received her MS from the University of Chicago and her PhD in Biology from Duke University. She currently serves as the Director of International Relations at the National Museum of Natural Science in Taiwan. This workshop focuses advancing professional development and career growth within museums and cultural institutions in the age of AI.
