In collaboration with the Waawiiyaataanong Arts Council of Detroit, this free event will feature insights into landback movements, Indigenous sovereignty, and the responsibilities of institutions in our community. Moderated by artist Pilar Cote, with panelists from Oakland University, including Megan Peiser and Andrea Knutson, we’ll explore ongoing efforts in land stewardship, food sovereignty, and cultural preservation. Learn how academic and community-driven initiatives can pave the way for collaborative land acknowledgments and heritage site development.
