For membership organizations, a brand and messaging that reflects core values is essential. The International Probiotics Association recognized its outdated branding no longer reflected its membership base and needed a refresh to expand. Our process ?? ?? We conducted qualitative research with board members and distributed a quantitative survey to members around the world. Through this data, we evaluated name equity and shared value across all “biotics” branches. ?? Based on insights gleaned from data and precedents for successful brand name acronyms, we recommended that IPA maintain its three-letter name and create a three-tiered sub-brand structure for each membership branch. The results ? We presented this solution to the Board of 25 global industry leaders at the annual meeting in Chicago. The Board unanimously accepted the recommendation. As the brand has been soft-launched at industry trade shows, it has been well received by the industry.
