Muscatine Power and Water (MPW) is a not-for-profit utility serving approximately 13,000 customers. Our customers are our driving force and the decisions we make every day are in service of benefiting our community. We create enhanced customer experiences through the services we offer, backed by advanced technology with special attention to service and top-notch customer support. What makes us unique? We produce and deliver nearly every critical utility service over highly reliable, local distribution systems and networks. Electricity, water, gigabit internet, TV and phone- we are the backbone for today’s home, business and enterprise organization. With the Water Utility founded in 1900, the Electric Utility in 1922, and the Telecommunications Utility in 1996, MPW exists because the citizens of Muscatine voted that their utility services be delivered by a local entity that puts community needs first. Our nearly 265 employees are an integral part of the community and most live, play and volunteer within the communities we serve. They are customers, too, and have a vested interest in ensuring we deliver quality, reliable services. Fast Facts: *MPW reliably provides, on average, over 10.3 billion gallons of safe, great tasting water to Muscatine. *MPW’s electric and communications lines and water pipes total over 688.2 miles combined. *Because of energy efficiency programs implemented by MPW customers in a single year, nearly 26 million kWh of electricity will be saved over the next 10 years. *3 things our employees love best about working at MPW are their co-workers, the friendly work environment, and leadership is accessible and involved.

Last Friday, MPW had the opportunity to attend the 8th grade Career Fair at @scottcountycatholicschools. Line Crew Supervisors Dave Scott and Derek Hagens along with HR Generalist, Kelsey Kraus, took time to speak with students about a career as an Electric Line Worker. The students also enjoyed the interactive demo of some of the tools the crews use in the field and some of the personal protective equipment they wear. It was an engaging time for all.
