SXSW Sydney done and dusted! Yesterday, Musa co-founders Tandadzo (Tando) Matanda and Dr Margaret Jekanyika Matanda had the best time engaging with ambitious founders looking to become funding ready. At the workshop, we had early-stage founders, scale-ups and investors join the session. Tando and Dr Margaret shared more about how the Musa platform works and how we’re on a mission to create a more equitable funding industry. We deep dived into some of the startup's operations, their biggest issues, and how Musa’s 12 pillars of business can support founders to identify weaknesses - and enhance their strengths. It wouldn’t be a presentation for a tech startup without a few technical difficulties! Thanks to all the attendees for bearing with us. And a big thanks to Startup Daily for showcasing the Musa at SXSW story. If you'd like to learn more about Musa and how we are on a mission to support founders to realise their most important metrics, please check out our website or get in touch with our co-founders. #startup #startups #startupaus #sxsw #sxswsydney #investing #startupinvesting #startupfunding #funding

Venture Capitalist & Award-Winning Entrepreneur | First Afro-Australian Woman to Lead a Multi-Million Dollar CVC Fund | Co-Founder of Musa - an Intelligent Funding Navigator for Frontier Market SMBs
Today, on National Entrepreneurs’ Day, I want to reflect on the art of entrepreneurship. Yes, art—because that’s what it truly is. ????? In my eyes true entrepreneurship is no different from music, sculpture, or painting. It’s about pulling something extraordinary from the depths of your imagination and shaping it into reality. Like most art forms, it comes with critics and an audience that may simply not be ready —and that’s where resilience comes in. Like all true art, it calls for you to put your whole self into it, and not take no for an answer. Being in Silicon Valley right now, I’m reminded that entrepreneurship like art isn’t bound by geography. Great businesses —and great entrepreneurs—exist everywhere. The challenge is ensuring that these creators, have access to the resources they need to bring their visions to life. So to every entrepreneur out there: your imagination, courage, and resilience are reshaping the world. Thank you for daring to create. The journey isn’t easy, but it’s worth it—and we’re here to support you every step of the way. ???? #NationalEntrepreneursDay #Entrepreneurship #Musa #EmpoweringEntrepreneurs Musa Ventures

Venture Capitalist & Award-Winning Entrepreneur | First Afro-Australian Woman to Lead a Multi-Million Dollar CVC Fund | Co-Founder of Musa - an Intelligent Funding Navigator for Frontier Market SMBs
First full week in Silicon Valley is complete, and I’m thrilled by the depth of conversations and insights gained. Connecting with old friends and drawing inspiration from new ones has been a major highlight. I’m especially inspired by Dave McClure (founder of 500 Startups), who is making waves with Practical Venture Capital and transforming the secondary market. It was incredible to meet and hear from Gené Teare (Crunchbase, TechCrunch) as she shared insights on how AI will revolutionize startup funding. Special shout out to Derek Andersen (founder of Startup Grind) and Rama Sekhar (Menlo Ventures) for their unique perspectives at the Venture Revolution Summit in San Francisco. I’m excited to explore how Musa’s Intelligent Funding Navigator will contribute to this evolution in business funding. I’ll be in the Bay Area for a few more weeks—if you’re around, feel free to reach out! #SiliconValley #StartupFunding #VentureCapital #Innovation #AI #StartupLife #Networking #Musa #Entrepreneurship #BayAreaTech #FundingRevolution #VentureSummit #SecondaryMarket #TechTrends Musa Ventures

'24 Women to Watch in Leadership | '23 Agenda Setter of the Year Finalist | Institutional Banker | NFP President | Changemaker | Community Leader | State Gov Advisor | Podcaster | Aspiring Screenwriter | Bad Gal
Day 2 of SXSW Sydney and it looks like Melbourne weather followed me! Decided to pace myself as my day was going to be long! Started off at the WRONG VENUE for my first session (another fun experience) but thankfully I had baked in buffers in my schedule for such mishaps (getting better at this). Here are my key highlights for the day: Startup Venture Health Assessment workshop ran by Tandadzo (Tando) Matanda and Dr Margaret Jekanyika Matanda of Musa Ventures who showcased their holistic health assessment tool that ANY startup and small business can use to assess the health of their business and determine whether its VC ready. Pretty genius to codify and harmonise language and terminology used by VCs so the communication gap can be closed. From mapping your financial position to SDGs this tool is essential to any business out there! Podcast stage with The Antoinettes AZURE Antoinette and Antoinette Lattouf was a sober reminder of the dystopia we live in through a satirical lens. Everytime you think we've capped the limit of dystopia we breach it and with just 10 weeks left in the year, Black Mirror is looking more like a reality TV than fiction ?? All honor and care to Antoinette for her persistent resilience to remain steadfast in the pursuit of equitable and just journalism despite her David and Goliath fight in the public eye - and shared how she still prioritises self care despite being so public. AZURE reminded us that we need to give space for humans to be humans and remember our humanity as that is what will save us. Also that we don't owe anyone strength. Cry if you need to, give yourself grace to be human! Another Podcast stage was with Mundanara Bayles AFHEA MAICD on her Black Magic Woman Podcast with special guest Nooky. This conversation enriched my soul in ways unimaginable! Hearing the stories of First Nations from a joyous perspective despite the reality they exist in is truly remarkable. Reminded me of my own community and my efforts in championing positive narratives. Nooky's spirit is one I wish to embody and hearing how the Black Cockatoo is an inspiration for him was so wholesome! The evening was filled with endless (ENDLESS) rooftop parties and highlight of the evening was Jorja Smith concert which was phenomenal! Battery ran out but I was in bed by midnight to ensure I have some beauty sleep in preparation for my big SXSW debut happening TODAY! ?????? Day 3, I'm ready! #SXSWonLinkedin #sxswsydney2024
