Introducing BLTN. With BLTN, officers can disseminate information about suspects, issue bulletins, and track trends at any time during the shift. Intelligent alerts reduce clutter in your inbox, natural language processing increases search accuracy, and smart suggestions promote collaboration with neighboring departments while helping close cases faster, all from a tool you can open on any browser. In addition, corporate entities and other community stakeholders gain insight into street-level information while ensuring law enforcement has the information they need to stay safe.

With so many conferences over the last three months, our team has been busy on the road and at crime analysis events. Joe Ryan took some time to write about how crime analysts can advocate for technology needs at their departments. Check out his most recent blog with advice to analysts struggling to have their technology and training needs met. https://hubs.li/Q02SxKHX0

VP of Sales - Leveraging law enforcement and sales experience to drive new business, grow revenue, and ensure customer success. multitudeinsights.com
After spending all this week in Las Vegas with the International Association of Crime Analysts and last week in Tahoe City with the California Crime & Intelligence Analysts Association, having the opportunity to help these true professionals is a blessing. The 15 years I spent doing the job and the 10 years (and counting) supporting them is time I truly cherish. This week, I had the chance to present to a room full of analysts from all over the country. I invited Emily Dorscher (not a customer) from the Marysville Police Department to give an overview of bulletin best practices and I followed it up with how our #BLTN solution can "bring your bulletins to life", as Costa Mesa Police Department Chief Ronald Lawrence said to me in a demonstration earlier this year. Emily did an amazing job and I know the audience took something away from her best practices presentation. It was important for me to not just give a sales pitch and to add value for the audience, and Emily did just that. Matthew White and I had so many great interactions at the booth with analysts about bringing Multitude Insights' technology to their departments. However, I still get the occasional "they never buy anything for me" or "they never listen to me" or "I don't have any authority to buy anything". This frustrates me so much and not because it hinders the sales process, but because analysts play such a critical role in their departments and need to be supported. Part of this is on the department, but the analyst also shares a responsibility in this. I ended my presentation with a call to action for any crime/intel analyst that feels this way. As the great Jim Rohn said, "If you don't like how things are, change it. You're not a tree." I know, it's easier said than done. But one thing you can do today is get curious and take notice of the movers and shakers in your department. Who are the people that are successful in buying technology, implementing strategies, and getting their vision approved? These are the people you need to observe, learn from, align with, and befriend. When you have an idea for a new strategy or a new technology need, go find that friend and "pitch" them. Let them run with your idea, or better yet, have them run beside you as you run with your idea. This message has been on my heart for a while now but what better day to share it than National Crime and Intelligence Analyst Appreciation Day. Remember, you're not a tree. You can make a difference. #IACA #CrimeAnalysts #IALEIA #IntelAnalysts #IntelligenceAnalysts
