I was encouraged by strides made towards diversity and inclusion in my return to NADA this year. The founding team at Women of Color Automotive Network (WOCAN) is leading the way along with compelling speakers and advocates. Before NADA, attendees at the Women Driving Auto Retail event experienced a captivating presentation by the renowned social psychologist Amy Cuddy. Cuddy, known for her groundbreaking research on body language and its impact on confidence and influence, brought her unique perspective to the automotive realm. Her message - literally make yourself bigger. Check out her TedTalk viewed 70M times to see for yourself (if you’re not already one of the 70M!). Shelley Zalis, founder and CEO of The Female Quotient brought the house down with stories of her groundbreaking work and advocacy, all the while having attendees laughing along the way.
