Mullen Coughlin UK (MC UK) welcomes associate Catherine Travers to its #UnitedKingdom office, where she will join #MCUK Partners Cameron Carr and Richard Hall, as well as fellow associates Alexander DiMeo and Alexander Dimitrov, in providing #IncidentResponse and #AdvisoryCompliance legal counsel. With extensive experience addressing data privacy and #cybersecurity needs for organizations across all industry sectors, including #Retail/#ECommerce, #FinancialServices, #ProfessionalServices and #Technology, Catherine will work with both the UK and US teams in responding to, and investigating, #DataPrivacy and security incidents. She will also assist organizations strengthen their data #privacy and security #compliance posture by providing Advisory Compliance solutions, such as drafting of Data Processing Agreements (DPAs) and conducting Data Protection Impact Assessments (DPIAs). Catherine joins Mullen Coughlin LLC from an in-house Associate Legal Counsel role, and was previously with a large international law firm working primarily on #data- and technology-focused transactions. Mullen Coughlin LLC #PrivacyLitigation Partner Amanda Harvey and Associate Kayleigh Watson recently had their article, “An Analysis of Standing in Texas Data Breach Class Actions,” published in the Dallas Bar Association’s January 2025 edition of “Headnotes.” In the article, Amanda and Kayleigh examine the impact of the conflicting rulings that federal courts have issued regarding the issue of establishing standing in #DataBreach #litigation. With respect to #Texas in particular, the authors highlighted two recent cases – one in the Southern District of Texas and one in the Western District of Texas – that both tackled the standing issue, but each coming to a different decision. Partner Lynda Klebanoff re-joins Mullen Coughlin and will continue to defend organizations in single-plaintiff, #ClassAction and B2B #litigation against claims related to violations of various #DataPrivacy statutes and regulations, #WireFraud and misuse of website tracking technologies such as #MetaPixel. She received her J.D. from Villanova University Charles Widger School of Law and is licensed to practice in both #Pennsylvania and #NewJersey. Associate Thomas B. joins Mullen Coughlin after several years of litigation practice at a mid-sized, full-service #LawFirm. With experience in handling over 150 cases over his career, Thomas brings experience in handling litigation matters from intake to conclusion, including case evaluation and analysis; skilled motion practice; in-court appearances; and representing his clients at #arbitration and #mediation.
