关于我们
We like plants, people, and beautiful spaces. John Mulhall came to Omaha in 1953 to landscape, and now, three generations later, we’re as committed as we’ve ever been to making Omaha a more beautiful place to live. Today we're a team of a few hundred people between four different business units – Landscape, Farms, Garden + Home, and Shared Services – but our focus remains the same: working together to engage our community and share our passion for the beauty of the natural world. And we have fun doing it. Interested? Don’t hesitate to reach out!

Last night, the team gathered for our Christmas Kickoff at Mulhalls Garden + Home. From fresh-cut trees to ornaments and décor, pre-wrapped gifts to our photography program, we’re getting ready to make the season memorable for our customers ? In line with our core values – we are passionate and inclusive and keep it fun – we started with dinner and snacks, then broke into groups. Training like this brings together team members from all parts of the store – from Operations to Merchandising + Pro, Marketing + Brand, Facilities, Greenhouse, and Front-End. We rotated through seven stations to dive into each holiday topic and wrapped up with a quick quiz, awarding a prize to the winning group ?? Here’s to a fun, festive season ahead ?? #purposefirstbusiness #Holidaytraining

Meet Damon Rath, our Category Manager for annuals, edibles, and container products. With nearly 20 years in the industry, Damon’s love for plants started young – helping care for his grandma’s lakeside yard each summer ? A tech-loving, video-gaming outdoorsman, Damon balances his time between nature and screens with hobbies like hiking and kayaking. Known for keeping things fun, Damon’s bold shirt collection and quirky socks always spark conversations ?? His favorite part of the job? “Staying ahead of the market. Have you heard about next year’s glow-in-the-dark petunias?” Damon recently joined forces with our Farms team to curate this season’s wintergreens, a project rooted in collaboration and his wholesale know-how. Thanks for all you do, Damon ?? #purposefirstbusiness #teamwork #peopleofmulhalls

Just wrapped up an amazing interior landscapes project for PayPal – and we couldn’t be more pleased with how it turned out ?? Our team came together to deliver this full installation in just three and a half weeks – a timeline that’s usually more like two to four months! From design to ordering to installation, it was all hands on deck, and everything came together beautifully. PayPal had a vision inspired by their Austin, Texas office, so we crafted the space with a mix of live and artificial plants that matched that vibe. We created a unique wire racking feature with artificial plants for a cohesive look and selected an understated yet striking combination of live plants, all in textured, thoughtfully designed containers. The highlight? A living wall featuring 597 pothos plants – a mix of jade and neon – arranged for a clean, minimal aesthetic with a big impact. And to add that lush feel across the office, we filled seven built-in planters, including at the countertop and front desk, bringing a touch of green to every corner ?? It was a whirlwind project, and we’re grateful to bring this vision to life for the PayPal Omaha team ?? #InteriorLandscapes #Mulhalls #Paypal

While winter may seem far off, we're always thinking ahead to ensure we're ready when the first snow hits. Last week, our landscape team came together for a hands-on "Train the Trainer" session, with Senior Field Manager Nick Searl – our "Snow Commander" – leading the way. Nick's dedication to thorough preparation is key to ensuring everyone is set up for success this season ?? By getting our managers trained up, we can better equip our larger teams with hands-on, on-site guidance that ensures alignment across the business unit. Our field and branch managers dove into the details they'll need to support their teams this winter. Doug from our shop provided insights into sidewalk equipment, while Oscar and Carlos shared their expertise on truck and plow setups, troubleshooting, and solutions for the unique challenges ahead ? This year, we're refining our process by using salt brine as a pre-treatment whenever possible. Brine works right away to reduce snow buildup, sticks to surfaces better than traditional salt, and helps us use less material overall. It's especially helpful near entryways, keeping the indoors cleaner and free of rock salt. When temperatures drop, we'll use rock salt and deicer for traction and melting, and sand will be available to provide extra grip on slick slopes. We're also strengthening our post-treatment approach. Six area managers will be applying salt and sand across multiple sites once snow is cleared, which will help us respond quickly and ensure every property stays safe and accessible throughout the season ??? #SnowRemoval #LandscapeTeam #WinterReady #Mulhalls

This morning at our monthly S.O.I.L. meeting, we had the privilege of welcoming Kristin Lowrey executive director of Access Period, to share her work and mission with us ?? Access Period is dedicated to ending period poverty across Nebraska, and since its start, it has provided an incredible 2 million menstrual products to people throughout the state. Hearing Kristin talk about the impact it’s making was both inspiring and eye-opening. Our S.O.I.L. (Sisters Optimistic in Leadership) Employee Resource Group is a space for women and allies at Mulhalls to unite, support each other, and address issues impacting our community. At its core, it reflects our commitment to inclusivity, providing an environment for open conversations on topics that are often stigmatized – like menstruation – and working to create a workplace where everyone feels seen and supported ?? At Mulhalls, we believe access to basic needs shouldn’t be a barrier for anyone. That’s why we provide free menstrual products in our bathrooms, so our team members don’t have to worry about access impacting their day. It’s a simple way we support our team’s well-being and help eliminate the stigma around something all women experience. Kristin shared that Access Period provides three-month product kits to those in need, allowing people to focus on school, work, and family without worrying about essentials. Her commitment to access as a human right really resonated with our team and reinforced the importance of organizations like Access Period in building a stronger community ?? Hosting Kristin perfectly reflects our group’s mission to create spaces for meaningful conversations about gender equity – and a reminder of the difference we can make when we come together. Thank you, Kristin and Access Period, for sharing your work with us. We can’t wait to host our own packing party ?? #accessperiod #communitysupport #inclusive

The July 31 windstorm caused significant damage to Omaha’s tree canopy, with more than 2,200 trees lost. While the loss was impactful, it also created an opportunity to rebuild a more diverse and resilient landscape for the future ?? In support of this recovery, Mulhalls Garden + Home partnered with Keep Omaha Beautiful’s Trees for Tomorrow initiative, donating $10 for every tree sold between Aug. 20 and Sept. 1. Thanks to the generosity of our community, we were able to donate $2,000 to this important cause. This season’s efforts began with Mulhalls’ first volunteer planting on Oct. 5 at Ta-Ha-Zouka Park, where 75 trees were planted with the help of 100 volunteers. In addition, Mulhalls recently completed contractor-led plantings, adding 124 trees across five parks. Trees for Tomorrow also partnered with local schools, planting 14 trees across two elementary schools. With these efforts, Keep Omaha Beautiful is on track to reach a major milestone – more than 4,000 trees planted since 2018, bringing us one step closer to a healthier, more sustainable Omaha ?? Thank you to everyone who helped make this possible. We’re proud to have been part of this important work, and we remain committed to supporting the future of Omaha’s green spaces ?? #Mulhalls #KeepOmahaBeautiful #TreesForTomorrow #Omaha #Sustainability #CommunityImpact #GreenOmaha

We're proud to announce the success of our Plant to Give initiative in partnership with Whispering Roots! This year, despite the challenges of a tough gardening season, including tornadoes and high winds, we collected 1,205 pounds of fresh produce ???? Food security is a tough and ongoing challenge in our community, but with the help of our Mulhalls community, we made a difference! By encouraging gardeners to plant a few extra plants in their edible gardens, we accepted donations of fresh produce that were transformed into delicious, nutritious meals shared directly with underserved communities throughout the city. Donated produce was dropped off Friday through Sunday during store hours, and Whispering Roots picked up the items on Monday mornings from July through early October ?? We are so proud of our Mulhalls community, which came together to donate produce week after week to help feed families in our area. Every pound of produce donated has gone toward nourishing our community – whether transformed into meals in the commercial kitchen, used in culinary education classes, or distributed directly to those in need. Together, we worked to combat food insecurity in the Omaha area, where thousands of children face hunger daily. Our partnership embodies a shared vision for healthier, more resilient communities. Thank you to everyone involved in making this initiative a success ?? #PlantToGive #CommunitySupport #purposefulbusiness
