Friends, the Global Aid Freeze is here. We need to document its impact—together.
The ripple effects are already being felt—projects paused, funding frozen, people laid off, and communities left in limbo.
To make the case for the critical work we do as a sector, we need more than stories—we need data.
So we've launched a quick site and survey at GlobalAidFreeze.com (https://lnkd.in/evKzKmvs) — to collect and document the real-world impacts of this decision AND to share some of the best resources we've come across for folks in need.
We plan to use the aggregate/anonymized data to create some powerful visuals and narratives and share widely.
If you or your organization have been affected, please take a few minutes to fill out the survey and share your insights.
Our goals are to:
?? Understand the magnitude of the impact—How many lives, programs, and communities are affected?
?? Build solidarity and connection—This is an uncertain time, but we are stronger together.
?? Communicate the human story—Not just budgets and policies, but the real people behind them.
A note: we take privacy and security very seriously, but no system is 100% risk-free. Please assess your own risk levels before sharing and only provide information you are comfortable disclosing. You can remain anonymous.
Individual responses will remain confidential unless otherwise noted.
Hopefully things quiet down and we see reversals in the coming weeks.
Without a clear record of what’s happening now, it will be harder to advocate for these programs in the future.
We welcome the chance to work with with other groups on this. Get in touch if you want to support or coordinate efforts.

Alongside this effort, I also want to highlight something great—our Ask & Offer thread from yesterday (link in comments) has over 100,000 views and nearly 500+ comments from people offering their time, resources, and support to those affected.
If you need help—funding, job leads, advice, connections—there are people willing to step up. If you can offer something, this is your chance to do so.
I know it’s been a hard week. (Shit, it’s only Wednesday.) But I want to keep saying this: I believe in this community. The way we show up for each other is incredible, and I want to keep that going, no matter what comes next.
So, if you can:
? Fill out the survey at GlobalAidFreeze dot com
? Share this with your networks—we need as much data as possible.
? Check the Ask & Offer thread in the comments if you need help or can offer support.
Let’s meet the moment in whatever ways we can.
