In conjunction with National Aviation Week, we had the honor of presenting Bob Lombardo with the coveted 1 in 8 varsity jacket in celebration of McDonald’s 1 in 8 campaign today! This campaign highlights the incredible statistic that one of every eight Americans has worked for McDonald’s. When Bob isn’t helping serve up delicious burgers, he is flying as a commercial airline pilot! Grounded from flying at the height of the pandemic in 2020, Lombardo approached his neighbors, Albert and Carol Mueller, about working at one of their family McDonald’s restaurants in Clarks Summit. After a year of working at the restaurant, Lombardo returned to his career as a pilot, but the restaurant had such a positive impact on Lombardo that, to this day, he still picks up shifts when he’s needed. It was a memorable experience for the veteran pilot that provided a way to connect with the community during a time when others could not. One of the most rewarding ways to stay involved in our communities is hosting McTeacher’s Nights! We recently hosted Carbondale Area Junior/Senior High School to help raise funds for their facility dog. We even had the pleasure of bringing back a former employee turned Math Teacher to participate in the fun! We always love a great 1 in 8 story….but it’s even better when they get to come back to their roots and hang out under the Arches!

Concluded our third and final training session yesterday to help bring a new Workforce Management System to our organization! We are excited for the opportunity to introduce Harri to our management team and help provide them with the tools and resources they need to serve our people better. ??
