?? The future of ocean innovation was on full display at Seaworthy Collective’s Fall Start-up Showcase! This event brought together innovators and supporters in #BlueTech to celebrate 1000 Ocean Startups member Seaworthy Collective’s fifth cohort. For three years, Seaworthy has empowered start-ups tackling ocean and climate challenges by providing resources, mentorship and a supportive community. This year’s start-up cohort impressed with solutions addressing various pervasive issues in ocean health, from coastal resilience to pollution reduction as each start-up founder presented their vision for impact-driven change: ?? Astraeus Ocean Systems is building a network of Autonomous Surface Vessels to provide fast, affordable ocean data. ?? Cordelia Biosciences develops sustainable, ocean-based chemicals to replace harmful ingredients in everyday products. ?? Mud Rat is creating eco-friendly surfboard cores made from mycelium as an alternative to styrofoam. ?? Prosper Technologies, LLC creates pioneering oxygen-infused treatments to improve coastal health and prevent algae blooms. ?? Thrasos 3D 3D-prints coral reefs with carbon-negative materials to restore coral health and resilience. ?? Toothpik is advancing waste sorting technology to increase recycling and composting rates. ?? A co-created start-up, break pHlow was also announced - focusing on creating olivine breakwaters for coastal carbon capture and resilience. ?? The showcase also unveiled major milestones ? their new platform, The Shoreline, opens applications this month, providing a virtual community for ocean innovators, and their latest investment vehicle, RegeneraSea, aims to mobilize philanthropic capital to support ocean-based climate solutions. ??
