The work of our ON-SITE???? service crews is by nature a bit more exotic than what engine mechanics usually experience on their job. A five-man crew from MTU Maintenance Berlin-Brandenburg flew recently to tropical Singapore, where a Boeing 737 business jet used by a Premier League club owner sat grounded in a hangar. Their task was to replace the Stg.1 LPT nozzle guide vanes on both CFM56-7B's, while one of the engines required an additional boroblending job on its HPC blades. With support from MTU Maintenance Lease Services and the logistics team back in Germany, our crew got the engines back in working order in no time. #WeAreEngineExperts #CFM56

Joyful and jubilant in Jinwan!! ?? ?? ?? We danced, clapped and celebrated the official opening of MTU Maintenance Zhuhai Jinwan branch this morning in China! MTU Maintenance Zhuhai Jinwan branch will focus on Pratt & Whitney PW1100G-JM engines and have a yearly capacity of up to 260 engine shop visits annually as well as around 600 engine experts once ramped up. Combined with its main site, MTU Maintenance Zhuhai, which lies just 20 kilometers away, it aims to be the largest maintenance repair and overhaul facility in the world, with a capacity of over 700 shop visits. "This construction was the result of great teamwork, international collaboration and the dedication of our employees,” says Gert Wagner, CEO and President, MTU Maintenance Zhuhai. He expressed his gratitude, saying, “A big thank you to the entire MTU team for your support, as well as to our employees for their flexibility during construction. We truly appreciate your ongoing dedication as we continue to ramp up.” After the test cell entered operations in 2023, the new shop buildings were built in only 18 months. The site now has over 30,000 square meters of additional, state-of-the-art facilities, including cleaning, non-destructive testing, inspection and repair areas as well as engine and module assembly and disassembly lines. MTU Maintenance Zhuhai and MTU Maintenance Zhuhai Jinwan branch are specialized in narrowbody engine MRO, servicing CFM56 and LEAP engines from CFM International, as well as International Aero Engines AG V2500 engines and Pratt & Whitney’s PW1100G-JM engines.
